Activated10 Posted September 28, 2019 Share Posted September 28, 2019 Vic Fangio is top 5 defensive coach in the league, finally got his chance of being HC after 30+ years in the NFL. Denver Broncos defense are the only defense without sack and turnover! This is a team that has VON MILLER & BRADLEY CHUBB! While the rest of the league was going with young offensive minds who could mold young franchise QBs, Elway went with an old school defense first coach who knows nothing about offense and paired him with a washed up QB who was never great and hasn’t even been good in 5 years. Dre'mont Jones is still green. The green bay game pressure was being produced occasionally, but Von and Chubb were being doubled by the guards and tackles. In SF he made a pretty good edge DE into arguably the best defensive player in the NFL. In Chicago, Hicks was one of the first guys added in the defensive rebuild. Fangio's 5 tech does more than just eat space. He hasnto penetrate and draw attention from the edge. Derek Wolfe is not that guy. He also does not have anywhere near the level of safety play he needs to disguise his coverages. Fangio likes to make everything look like 2 deep.
