Honestly that’s just the theme of the new NFL now. Which is wild. Turning into college football outchea.

Nex_Gen
Since this ridiculous thread was created, I'd like to bring up the Jones hit for review. I thought it was an absolutely ludicrous call, and the flag was only throw because Allen folded like a tent from the hit he initiated himself. My question out of this is, are we just gonna throw a flag and cry foul every time a ball carrier absorbs a hit and knocks himself out, regardless of how fundamentally sound the tackle was from the defender? Josh Allen, notorious for thinking he's a RB, scrambles for the first down. He shows no will of slowing down and preserving his own safety. Allen is yards away from the first down as Harmon chases him down laterally from his right side. With Harmon making contact , Allen's forward momentum ensures he's going to drag Harmon additional yards to get the first down. Jones gets in front of the first down, stands his ground, and creates a platform to anticipate for contact from Allen. He literally stops his own momentum and waits for Allen to come in, similar to NBA players taking charges. As Allen decides not to slide or give himself up, Jones leads in with his shoulders from his well established base of defense. Allen lowers his head and decides to lead with that. The rest will speak for itself. Jones, visibly emotional afterwards, wasn't celebrating the fact that Allen was laid out. He was upset because he know he did everything in the right and still got called for a huge play he made at a huge point in the game. It was bull. Allen knows exactly what he was getting himself in to. Jones had every right to defend the first down marker.
