Everyone outside and many inside think Daniel is better than MT now.

I can tell you watching them practice Daniel is not better.

Daniel came in and played very well to start, but he got worse as game went on.  He made some great plays, but missed some easy throws that would have moved chains.

Nagy said MT had a great week of practice.  With better protection this game then previous 3 I think we would have seen an equal or better game from MT.

Big difference is Daniel can read a defense and MT can't, but big difference other direction is he is 1/10th the athlete MT is.

Maybe MT would not have done better because Vikings seemed to be feeding off fact that they were playing MT.  Mentaller they feel they can beat him and don't quit.  Once he went down and Daniel started hot, combined with defensive play, they kind of deflated.

They weren't sure how to play Daniel it seemed.

Lets not pretend 16 points is great.  16 points suck.   Especially with D playing like it is.

This is the newest hot take people have after watching Daniel fill in for Mitch yesterday when it was mainly the Bears D dominating once again on the way to a victory.

Was Daniel really that good yesterday? IMO no but he did enough to manage the game and not screw anything up.  There were a couple instances when he got the ball off just in time otherwise he probably would have taken a sack and maybe turned the ball over.  This is my biggest gripe with Daniel is that he takes too long to throw the ball.

Offense still left plenty of points on the field in that game considering the field position they had.

Daniel is a career back up for a reason.  He's fine to fill in here and there but don;t be fooled that this guy will end up being a better long term option than Mitch.  #10 has way more skill.

It was a fun win, but tempered by the "dammit, here we go again with the backup QB" feeling

Pretty sure we just saw Chase Daniel playing at the top end of his ability. He looked solid and confident, and honestly looked better than Trubisky has most of this year. BUT.  Chase is not going to get better than this, and uneven though he is, Trubisky can get better and good enough to be in the playoffs.

To go far this year, the Bears still need Trubisky back and improved, and missing time like this is only going to slow this down. We also have the meathead speedbump of people think Daniel should start even if Mitch is healthy.

It's his non throwing shoulder.

I bet he is back sooner rather than later.

If it is me I am coming back sooner than I should and playing on as many pain killers as they allow me to take.

No way I risk losing my job and any shot at a big contract.

Maybe? I don't get the mystery surrounding the injury, like, at all. The whole thing with Smith is puzzling too, but still more understandable than a shoulder injury.

You have to wait for the machines and specialist to read them. 24 hours is really fast turnaround for that.

The Smith thing could be anything.

It's either he did something really bad or something really bad happened to him or to someone really close to him.

I am fascinated to see if offset language they fought about comes into play.  I forget how they even resolved that.

Cool. Somebody speculated that's all it was. Good news. To be honest, it didn't look that bad when he did it. Just a fluke kind of a deal.

Rich Campbell is reporting that Smith's name is not in the police report.

Schefter says Roquan was "behaving erratically" this week so Nagy decided not to play him.

"Behaving erratically", huh? Well boy, that's reassuring...
