Star Wars mafia is still in development, but this seemed like a low-hanging fruit game. This will be a draft style Mafia game, in which each player will draft a job/class from the game. Each class has abilities/items assigned to it already and it will not change depending on if you're scum or town.

Roles will be drafted via PM. You can join simply by posting here but remember that you MUST:

PM ME A BIG DRAFT BOARD, PREFERABLY CONTAINING EVERY CLASS.

Doing so will hopefully make the job-draft quick and smooth. I'll assign a random draft order and using your big boards you will receive your class. The deadline to sending me a big board is 12 hours after receiving your alignment. You may send me one prior to receiving your alignment. If you do not send in a Big Board prior to that (or your big board is too short and all your selections were already taken) you will be assigned a random class. Draft order will be random.

Job List:

Squire This job serves as the foundation for all others, forming the first step on the road to becoming a legendary warrior.
Chemist An expert in the use of items to recover HP or remove vexing status ailments.
Knight A brave and chivalrous warrior of unmatched skill. Uses a knight's sword to unleash the Arts of War.
Archer Equipped with a bow and arrow, this warrior provides valuable long-range attacks. May Aim for higher damage.
Priest A warrior who taps into the powers of the divine, using White Magicks to cast spells of recovery and protection.
Wizard A warrior who uses Black Magicks to channel elemental powers into powerful offensive spells.
Monk A warrior, devoted to physical training, whose unarmed attacks are deadly. May use Martial Arts.
Thief Warriors who can steal anything from anyone. Their skill is legendary.
Oracle A warrior who uses the Mystic Arts to bend the forces of the cosmos to his or her will.
Time Mage The Time Mage controls time and space. This sorcerer toys with the laws of the universe.
Geomancer A warrior who uses Geomancy to control powers lying dormant in the natural terrain.
Lancer A warrior who may make soaring Jump attacks even in full armor, the dragoon is also a master spearman.
Mediator A warrior who participates in battle using Speechcraft. Words, rather than swords, are the orator's weapons.
Summoner A warrior who may Summon the most powerful of spirits, the beings known as espers.
Samurai Following a warrior ethic from a foreign land, the samurai uses Iaido techniques to attack with his or her katana.
Ninja A warrior who uses stealth to be all but invisible. The ninja may also Throw weapons at faraway enemies.
Calculator A learned warrior who uses Arithmeticks to analyze natural phenomena and pinpoint magickal attacks.
Dancer A warrior who dances across the battlefield, garbed in colorful raiments.
Bard A warrior who uses his voice as a weapon. May use Bardsong to support his allies in battle.
Mime A warrior who has abandoned his or her own identity, instead mimicking the actions of allies in battle.
Dark Knight This warrior exchanges life for power, using Darkness to disintegrate all who stand before him.
Onion Knight Although able to equip all weapons, this sad warrior excels at none, and is far from being the most powerful.

Rules:

Day Phase Rules:

  1. To vote for someone, type their name in bold. Color must be black, and in, at least, a normal font size. You may vote for a no lynch. If “no lynch” has a majority, there will be no lynch.
  2. Day Phases will last 24 hours, unless my schedule demands otherwise. Deadline should always be around 9 PM ET (8PM CT).
  3. Lynches will not automatically occur prior to the deadline.
  4. If there is a tie between players at the end of the deadline, there will be a 15-minute overtime period. In this overtime period, any player who was voting for a player not in the majority may re-cast their vote to a player in the majority (players whose vote is already for one of those players cannot change their vote). If, after 15 minutes, there is still a tie, a no lynch occurs.
  5. Due to there being periods of the day where I cannot actively monitor the site, if anyone can keep a vote count for me if I haven’t posted one in awhile, I will love you forever.
  6. You must vote during each day phase. Failure to do this twice in a row will result in your death and/or being replaced if there’s a willing standin.

Night Phase Rules:

  1. After night is called, players will have 30 minutes to send in moves if they haven’t already, then they are locked. There is no penalty for sending in night moves during the day phase, in fact, you should send them in early if possible.
  2. You are allowed to post during the night, but do not post any results from that night’s actions before the night has ended.
  3. Night actions and items do have a certain priority assigned, but the details of this will not be revealed during the course of play (although like TNG mafia, the notion that "anything that can be assumed to happen at the same time does" is a core principal).

General Rules:

  1. You may edit posts you made in the last 5 minutes to fix typos or to add something but do not edit any post but your latest post, and do not add or remove a vote. If you abuse this, I will punish your team at my discretion. 
  2. Do not communicate or discuss this game outside of this thread without explicit permission.
  3. Upon your death, you are allowed one post. This post cannot contain anything game related.
  4. You are allowed to claim your name and/or power but copy/pasting the contents of your PM is not allowed. You may summarize it in your own words. 
  5. Please put a decent effort into remaining active (posting at least three times per day phase) throughout the game. 
  6. If you die on Day 1 or Night 1 and were given no special information, I'll probably let you become a replacement player if you request it.
  7. Have fun!

Setup Details:

  1. Each class has been given relatively logical ability(ies). I'm not promising that you'll receive what you necessarily expect however.
  2. When someone dies, their role PM will be revealed to everyone! Thus, while this is a closed role setup, a player’s death will still provide some clarity.
  3. Some characters may receive bonus powers before the draft is started, depending on their alignment.
  4. Day actions are extremely rare due to me not being able to monitor the site at certain hours.
  5. In this game, in addition to role abilities, there is also an item mechanic. You may use a role ability and an item in the same night, but only one of each. Both item uses and abilities count as visits.
  6. This is my first third attempt at this. Go easy on me if the balance isn’t quite right!
  7. Mistakes/Erratas: If I as host make a mistake in a night message or role description, I will attempt to inform that party as soon as I realize a mistake was made. If I made a mistake in a death, deaths are final, and I'm deeply sorry for that! But undoing a death is something I can't do because it could completely change the dynamic of the game.

The following skills have been added to your abilities (you can only use ONE ability per night):

  • 2-shot Summon: Summon a creature to the game, which acts like a player. Can choose one of three names for your summon: Shiva, Ifirit, or Ramuh. Summoned creature is considered Neutral-aligned, but is not considered a threat to Ivalice. The summoner may change the vote of any of his summons at any time during the day via PM, EXCEPT during the final hour of the day, when all summons get votelocked. It’s probably in the rules but is this an open  draft like we know who has what pick and what class they choose?

It's closed. You'll be sending me big boards (you may wait to see what your alignment is first), I'll assign draft order randomly and process the draft based on these immediately and hand them out. I haven't decided yet whether or not I'll make it public which class was drafted when or what the draft order was. I had considered giving the undrafted classes to scum for cover roles... we'll see.

I'll make my final decision known on this when I hand out alignments.
