For Denver, I hope the below are available, but Elway probably thinks were still a playoff team.

Von Miller - 1st + 3rd

Chris Harris Jr - 3rd

Emmanuel Sanders - 5th

I would love to look into Von Miller or Harris for the Falcons.    I'll throw you a 1st + Beasley for Miller right now lol.  You get a possible younger replacement if you can get anything out of him and we upgrade to a better more proven version of him for a 1st for the next few years.  Doubt we could afford the cap hit on Von though so it's a moot point.

Not especially. He is an all rounder, utilitarian.

Given he still has best part of 2 years of his rookie deal, I can see someone spending a 5th on him

The Buffalo Bills are trading wide receiver Zay Jones to the Raiders for a 2021 fifth-round pick, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Best fits:

  • Chris Harris Jr to Philly, Houston, or KC
  • Foles to Chicago (have to figure out a way to massage the dead money / Jags cap this year)
  • Trent Williams to New England or the Rams
  • Sanders to New Orleans or Seattle
  • T-Sizzle back to Baltimore

Harris would be a great fit, and would be a good play for next year. Since we have a couple corners up for contract next year anyway.
Fact we’ll have a top comp pick in the 3rd makes it an easier sell too.

interesting thought with Foles getting moved

Well I’m eyeing Chris Harris too... we can do a two-fer

Sanders would definitely be #1 for me. Harris would be awesome but i think that the Saints could be a top 5 defense without him. And you bring him in you have to wonder about safety-CB communication which was a problem the first few weeks.

How would the cap work with trading for those 2 mid-season?  Chris Harris is making 12 mil  and Sanders is making 12.9, though 2.63 was a signing bonus.

I think the team trading for them takes on the remaining weekly game check of what's left on their contract .

Now THAT would be mega interesting.   Beasley being a UFA and gone after 2019, though probably isn't quite enough - maybe a 1st and a 3rd-5th swap?  Von being at 17-18M per year for 2020 and 2021 actually puts him at fair market value, so that has worth.

I said that a 1st alone from a contender wasn't cutting it, but ATL's 1st plus a 3rd, and the potential for Beasley staying, or a comp pick, well that has wheels.  One MAJOR detail though - Elway's still under the delusion we can compete for 2019.  He won't even quite entertain offers for vets whose contracts are expiring until this past week (CHJ, Sanders, Wolfe), and he's been on record as saying he's building around Von no matter what.  So the offer is going to have to be blow-your-socks-off to get Elway to bite - and I think it starts with a 1st and another Day 2 pick (even though ATL could be top 10-15 easily).  Don't shoot the messenger, I think Elway should be already thinking 2021+, let alone 2020, but we're pretty plugged into the situation from his historically 99-percent accurate beat reporters Klis & Renck, who both say Von's not for sale (unless of course somone blows the doors off with an offer he can't refuse).

You take on 11/16 of the salary.   The way DEN could take more money on - agree to restructure some to a bonus, and pay more of 2019's salary.  Presumably, that come with a higher pick return, of course.

Given that NO is a contender, Elway probably holds out for other offers, unless NO is willing to give up a 2nd outright with no cap relief for CHJ alone, though.   Harris is getting an end of 3rd 2021 comp pick, but to move it this soon, it's got to be a needle-mover offer IMO for Harris.    A 1st is a pipe dream, though.   But, much cheaper than Ramsey (who may or may not be available, just saying)....

Keep in mind Elway still hasn't given up on 2020 though (crazy, I know, none of us feel that way lol).   So root for a TEN win.  He says it's getting close, but he's not quite ready to put up the "for sale" sign (he said that before our LAC W... so you can imagine how he feels now).
