He is not the $325 million dollar man.

Odd thing is.....it was reported he suffered a grade 1 strain - the least severe - which on paper takes 1-2 weeks to recover from.
But alongside that report was news he might not make it for opening day  -  which is 4 weeks away. Guess they intend to take it slow with his recovery and getting up to speed.

It's like 2019 never ended.....

Giancarlo Stanton questionable for Opening Day after suffering a right calf strain.
Since the start of 2019 Stanton has missed time for:

Strained left bicep
Strained left shoulder
Strained left calf
Strained right PCL
Strained right quad
Strained right calf

Not to kick a guy when hes down, but possibly PED related?

Is there another way to get around down there?

A decade of forced austerity destroyed the public transport system so not really. If you need to travel outside San Domingue you're gambling that the roads won't collapse.

Buster Olney -   These are the Hall of Famers Miguel Cabrera starts the year with 1,694 career RBI. In the first half of 2020, he will likely pass these players in that category:

Cal Ripken, Jr.
Jim Thome
Reggie Jackson
Frank Thomas
Adrian Beltre
Honus Wagner

I mean, RBIs are a stupid measurement, but I figured Cabrera was a lock for the HoF at this point.

2815 hits, 477 home runs. Assuming he stays healthy, I see him at least getting to 3000 hits in the 2021 season. 500 home runs should be doable as well.

https://nypost.com/2020/03/02/yankees-interested-in-steven-matz-trade-amid-rotation-injuries/

According to Mike Puma and Ken Davidoff of the New York Post, the Yankees have contacted the Mets regarding a possible trade for Steven Matz.

The report notes that the Mets are listening, with Miguel Andujar as a player of interest, though there's naturally skepticism about anything coming together. Still, it shines a light on the Yankees' need for another arm in their rotation. Matz isn't assured of a spot in the Mets' rotation, as he's essentially competing with Michael Wacha for a spot. It's ridiculous that it has come to that for Matz, but probably even more ridiculous to trade Matz away given Wacha's injury history. That depth is going to be needed one way or the other. Consider this one highly unlikely.
