M.10.E
Production isn't worth the attitude/locker room presence is probably the reason.
AFlaccoSeagulls
I just don't have anything else to say about this situation. He flashed potential so many times, but I don't know where/when/why it just stopped. He was doing great as of last year, then suddenly he's inactive and in the dog house with an "injury" and we never see him again.

We've really been awful at drafting defense (which is already few picks) high (1-3) in the last few drafts sans Marlon and it's coming back to bite us now. Bowser, Wormley, Williams, Correa, Kaufusi, Davis. 0 good starters out of six 2nd and 3rd round picks. Wormley is a decent starter but your point stands.
coordinator0
Sigh... This organization just can't draft athleticism on the edge. They don't know how to use or develop it. Oh well, edge-setters for life I suppose.

"a decent starter" if all you're looking for is a guy to take up a roster spot and be on the field. He doesn't do much else. Not a good pass rusher, not a good run stuffer, just exists. baltimoreRebel
Tim Williams reminded me of Antwan Barnes. Barnes had all the tools but never fully put it all together. Barnes was actually way more productive which isn't really saying much. I had high hopes for Tim Williams. It was all for naught..
AFlaccoSeagulls
I do have to point out that there is some sort of irony here that so far the only person to see consequences for the past 2 defensive outings is a guy who played a total of 22 snaps, and not the guys playing 100%.

Danand
I guess this is still just the coaching staff wanting to hold him back
RavensTillIDie
Cool. I would say more playing time for guys who still have potential like Jaylon, but when Williams was only seeing like 7 snaps a game to begin with, this really doesn't do much in the way of opening up significant playing time for others. Hopefully by the end of the year, these things will change on the defensive side of the ball: 1) Jimmy Smith will return healthy 2) Brandon Williams will return healthy 3) Tony Jefferson is benched in favor of Clark/Elliott 4) Averret is benched in favor of Canady 4) We go back to playing predominantly man coverage 5) Jalyon is playing 50% of the snaps at OLB 6) Kenny Young is playing closer to (at least) 50% of the snaps at ILB 7) Wink trusts his corners enough to be able to scheme up some more creative blitz packages

Tim Williams isn't the same player he was in '17 & '18, for whatever reason, and he's obviously done with Harbaugh. He's trying to become a rapper, and has been posting some wild stuff on his social accounts. Still, he's a better player than Jaylon Ferguson as it stands currently. This is a blow to our depth in effort to purge an "undesirable" from our locker room I suppose. John was probably on a warpath after our loss to the Browns and it looks like Timmy is a casualty. Hopefully he carries that same energy into his discussions with the actual culprits of our defeats- but I doubt it. It all seemed so simple back when we drafted him. Designated Pass Rusher, immediate impact, steal of the draft. His first ever career pressure was a QB hit to end the game against the Browns, on a play where he torched Joe Thomas. It's just too bad he never become a great run stopper.... Oh well. See ya Timmy.
AFlaccoSeagulls
@DreamKid Do you have the highlight of that play against Joe Thomas? I can't find it anywhere.
