Hogan has disappeared and Goodwin is an occasional big threat speed guy, just as he was in Buffalo. The WR leaving Buffalo narrative is a nice story, but the facts show its nonsense. Woods was better, and that's it in recent years. On the flip side John Brown has started the season with his best ever numbers since joining No one said they became superstars lol but Goodwin and Hogan definitely got better once they left. And yes John Brown also is having his best year so far with us.
G
Catching frozen footballs in Buffalo will make any mediocre WR look worse. Fortunately Oakland is doing really well with mediocre WR’s since the ABego left. Carr would have had to feed that ego and now can distribute the ball to anyone healthy and dressed. Will make him a better QB and that’s needed so we don’t target a rookie next offseason. Jacobs has been the missing piece and I’m happily eating crow by turkey day on that pick. We need another back to complement and keep him fresh but he got hurt in the Bears game and played through the pain. Glad he waited to sign his contract as it gives him security to put it all on the line. Hoping he’s a Frank Gore type of player over his career. Jones just needs to get some chemistry with Carr and be a piece of the puzzle. No pressure to be a #1or2. Just be available and work hard. Sounds like he struggles with contested catches, where our west coast O is all about quick underneath passes and getting guys open quickly. Buffalo fans, how is his blocking? We are turning in to quite the run first team and our WR's are asked to block.
DER10N92
Goodwin is arguable. He’s been occasional deep threat for SF which is what he was for us. Statistically Chris Hogan has been the same here as anywhere else. Sammy was better here. Robert Woods has ONE better season and it was the year LA lost Kupp for season so he saw a lot more targets. Rest of his time he was same. Getting more recognized because you’re on a team note popular nationally than Buffalo doesn’t mean that they have become statistically better

You get the impression he doesn't enjoy the physical side of the game, but he isn't a the worst I've seen

Getting more recognized because you’re on a team note popular nationally than Buffalo doesn’t mean that they have become statistically better Robert Woods has had two seasons in LA better than any season he had in Buffalo, he's once again on pace this year to surpass any marks he made in Buffalo. He's been far better in LA than in Buffalo. Goodwin is on pace to again be far more useful this year in San Fransisco than he ever was in Buffalo. Chris Hogan had his 3 best seasons in New England. He was better for the Patriots than he was for Buffalo. He was a legit WR3 in New England. Sammy Watkins is really the only guy you can make a case for, and thats largely because injuries derailed his career.

With his size you'd imagine he would be more physical but maybe that's not the case. Btw I hope Duke balls out for you guys. Was a beast in the CFL last year. Physically he can play, people saw that at East Carolina where he did all sorts of plays. Its nothing to do with cold or scheme. It's purely mental. Will Gruden solve that? Or finish him off? No one really knows. Edited October 8, 2019 by BigMountainGoat
thebestever6
Oakland might trade the farm for the guy from Alabama in the draft. 3rd, 5th,3rd,5th Spent on Bryant, Ab, Zay Jones. At some point he's gonna just stop messing around.
