According to Baseball Reference, Masahiro Tanaka is the first American League pitcher in postseason history to be removed with a shutout after at least 6 innings and less than 70 pitches thrown.

Masahiro Tanaka is the first pitcher since Greg Maddux in the 2002 NLDS to throw 68 or fewer pitches over a full six innings in the postseason. (Maddux used 67.)
