ALCS: Yankees vs Astros

Astros needed that. Series was over without it. Now they just can't get swept in New York. They take 1 and they'll at least have a shot with Verlander/Cole at home. Would be hard to ask for more than that, but obviously I wouldn't complain if we take 2 or 3!!!

We just won a game where our bullpen had to go long. That's big.

Well we stole one from the Astros at home and that's what was needed when we entered this series.

Go undeafted at home like we did two years ago and we are going to World Series

Gonna be tough to beat Cole, hopefully Sevy is up to it.  I’m just hoping for 2 of 3 to give us a chance.

This: "We weren’t able to get that big hit when we needed it,’’ Gardner said.

Multiple times Gardner's knees buckled as he took a curve right over the plate w/o offering up a swing. It hurt to watch. The NYY stopped working counts. Stopped controlling the zone. Stopped NOT swinging at garbage sliders and curves. It was the 2017 NYY Redux.

This: "While Aaron Boone displayed his newfound aggressiveness in fine fashion, lifting James Paxton with one out in the third inning when it became apparent to all that the Big Maple was sour despite trailing by a mere 1-0 margin, his bullpen ultimately fell short to its rival unit because the Yankees could do nothing offensively besides Aaron Judge’s two-run, fourth-inning homer off Verlander"

This: "Tied at 1-1 with the series headed back to The Bronx for Tuesday afternoon’s Game 3 against the dominant Gerrit Cole, it’s the Yankees who must make the adjustment. Their fourth, fifth and sixth hitters — Edwin Encarnacion, Gardner and Sanchez — have a combined three hits in 26 at-bats"

These guys need to wake up. They've looked lost at the plate. For Sanchez, this is a somewhat constant condition - but Gardner and Encaracion need to barrel up more balls than they have.

The BP pitched fine.

Otto served up a fat one (as he's prone to do when he's not walking guys or letting them steal on him...........) and Loaisiga was feeling it and couldnt locate anything other than his fastball - which he didnt want to throw for understandable reasons.

Thats when Happ was clutch.

HOU scored the most runs of any team this year. They've been scraping for them this entire series.

Happ was clutch in the 10th. Correa caught a pitch and put it out to an opposite field short port. It happens. The NYY hitters need to start doing it again.
