JiffyJag
Barring a complete Gardner meltdown, I don't see the point in ever going back to Foles. Our defense is terrible and we'll probably be out of contention by the time Foles comes back regardless of how well Minshew is playing, so might as well let him ride out the year. Going back to Foles after what Minshew has shown so far is like if the Ravens went back to Flacco after Lamar Jackson came in last year. Obviously very different with the circumstances (Foles being a FA and Flacco being the former franchise QB who brought the team a Superbowl in 2012), but completely on equal footing in terms of the averageness and lack of excitement each QB brings to a team right now. BayRaider
Premature thread. We have no idea how Minshew will perform over the next month of games.

Well I'm being told repeatedly in this thread that a 6th Rd Rookie shouldn't be replace by Foles when healthy, so I guess I'll pass. It's funny how people want to use Foles succes as a SB winning QB and attempt to make jokes when it applies to the Eagles but that same exact QB some how couldn't possibly help the Jags? Wonder why? Dont answer, It was rhetorical. Edited October 11, 2019 by Nabbs4u

Didn't realize being 1 game out of 1st place and winning the Division was out of the question? Well damn, I stand corrected. I do like the fact you think the Eagles make the SB.🍺

Fray32
how many bad games in a row before Foles is healthy does Minshew need to make this more a reasonable conversation?

If that diminishes and losses start to follow so will his Job security once Foles is deemed healthy. Just reposting this in case it was missed the past two pages. jrry32
You don't bench an impressive rookie for an uninspiring vet. If Minshew keeps performing, the answer is clear.

Mark Sanchez also performed well in the playoffs. Maybe you can go hire him off the street. Nick Foles had his great year in Philly under Chip. He then lost his job the next year to Mark Sanchez/Sam Bradford. He then was traded to the Rams. He lost his job on the Rams to Case Keenum. He went and spent time as a backup for KC and Philly. He had a great playoff run in Philly, but his overall regular season stats from 2016 to 2018 were middling. It would take a real dope to bench a promising rookie for a veteran who has spent his career losing starting jobs and putting up middling or worse play, aside from a few stretches of brilliance. Do better.
