(CNN)A former NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers was convicted of rape and other charges in a California courtroom Monday.

Dana Stubblefield, 49, was found guilty of luring a developmentally disabled woman to his Morgan Hill home in April 2015 with a promise of a babysitting job after contacting her through a babysitting website. He faces 15 years to life in prison.

The former defensive tackle, who was with the 49ers for seven years, was found guilty by a jury on charges of rape by force using a firearm, oral copulation by force, and false imprisonment, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office. He was acquitted of other charges of rape of a person incapable of giving consent, and oral copulation of a person incapable of giving consent.

Stubblefield was remanded to jail without bail after the verdict was read.

Santa Clara County's District Attorney Jeff Rosen called the ruling a "triumph of resilience" in a statement issued Monday.

"The victim has struggled her whole life with learning disabilities and challenges to be self-sufficient," Rosen said. "If we are not fighting for her, then who are we fighting for? It has been a long road for this remarkable woman and we are thankful to the jury for providing her some closure and, for our community, justice after an unconscionable and violent crime."

Sucks. I hate finding out old athletes that I rooted for turn out to be monsters.

1984 Week 8 San Francisco 49ers (6-1) at Houston Oilers (0-7)

Sunday Oct 21, 1984
Start Time: 4:00pm
Stadium: Houston Astrodome

This was a pretty exciting game. Especially the 4th quarter. I could kind of see why Debartolo chewed out the team in the locker room, since Houston was winless at 0-7, and he didn't want his powerhouse squad to slip up to the worst team in the league, especially since they had already had their first loss the previous week against the Steelers at home. But I don't know, Houston played hard more than the 49ers seemed to be slacking, and the 49ers offense still kept the foot on the gas in the 4th. It was just the defense that crumbled a bit late. They still won 34-21, so Eddie needed to chill. Anyway, worth a watch. Also, Tom Brookshire and Wayne Walker were soooooooo good as broadcasters. If you watch enough of these old games you'll pick up on some of the clever descriptions these guys came up with on the fly like "it's like trying to tackle a puff of smoke", "like going down Niagara Falls in a barrell", or "if he would have caught that it would have been the bye bye blues".

Former 49ers HOF defensive tackle Charlie Krueger died a few days ago.

Quote

The San Francisco 49ers on Friday lost a Hall of Famer. Defensive tackle Charlie Krueger died at 84 according to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Eric Branch. Krueger succumbed to heart and kidney failure.

The 49ers selected Krueger No. 9 overall in the 1958 NFL draft out of Texas A&M. He put together a 15-year career in red and gold that included two Pro Bowl nods in 1960 and 1964, and Second-Team All-Pro honors in 1960 and 1965. His sterling career earned him a spot in the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. Hall of Fame. His No. 70 is also among the 12 retired by the 49ers.
