It was just a bit confusing. Was hoping there was no conflict at all.

It seems like some fans are taking it that way. If there was a conflict though, why would Marlon tweet about it? Wouldn't make sense. I really think it's just an innocuous reference to a joke discussion they had.

Exactly. It’s not different than when we hear argued over the number Marlon would wear. Peters probably talked about how there’s no great DBs who wore #40 or something.

Which is also why I like Marlon. That #44 is going to be special, he’s going to make it into a request DB#. And when he retires having made that number into a HOF number for the Ravens... it’ll be that much more special. He’ll be the visionary that he never was as a #29. He feels like a 44 much more than a 29.

I guess Peters just isn’t a visionary like my boy Marlon.

I've noticed a lot of other teams' fans are obsessed with dogging out Marcus Peters. Like they personally suffer if we're not convinced he's an awful player....it's weird.

Like, say their narrative is true. That he's a highly volatile CB who gives up endless yards but maintains his starting gig because of an above average ability to create turnovers. Say that the most negative outlook possible on him is true. Why should we be upset with the acquisition?

We don't think he's a shutdown CB, nor do we expect him to be. Injuries have ravaged our incredible depth at the position and forced unready players into the lineup. We didn't need Marcus Peters to come in and be Nnamdhi Asmougha, we just needed him to be better than Anthony Averett and Cyrus Jones.... He was acquired for a 5th Round Pick and a player the coaches were uninterested in utilizing. Our investment level in him as a player was rather small. Yet the reaction to the deal by outsiders is as if we gave up the same compensation the Rams did for Ramsey- and expected a player just as good. It's odd.

I think this is the best way to look at the situation-

- In Peters' own words our defensive system is like the one he played in KC. Where he put together multiple All-Pro seasons and established himself as the current generation of CBs' best Ball Hawk- by far.

- We don't need him to be Superman for us. If his pure coverage ability tops out(Which there's no evidence of) as a Decent #2 CB or an inconsistent #3 CB, so be it. Marlon and Tavon(SCB) have already cemented themselves as Top 5 players at their position going forward, and currently Brandon Carr + Jimmy Smith are still on the 53 as well. So his assignments can be managed and his impact maximized.

- We have the personnel in house to help protect against the negative aspects that come with his gambling tendencies. Just as KC did during his time there. They had Eric Berry, we have Earl Thomas & Chuck Clark.

- The compensation we gave up for him was limited, and he's already majorly contributed to a win in one of our toughest match ups for 2019- after spending what? 3 days with the team. He's clearly an upgrade to what we had left at the position, and if he can bait MVP form Russell Wilson into a colossal INT. Then it's fair to assume he'll continue to do the same(Or is at least capable of doing the same) against other QBs we encounter this season. The AFC has 2 powerhouse contenders in the Pats & Chiefs, but is weak outside of them. Acquiring Peters, even if just for the remainder of the season, was a prudent move by EDC. Going forward I think he's a strong fit for us as well, both for the reasons listed above and because of his personality/play fit with the team. It's only right that this generations' top Ball Hawk and and INT return specialist should wear Purple & Black. We just put the GOAT in both of those categories into the HOF.

It will be interesting to see how this pairing continues to take shape. Hell of a debut highlight for Marcus Peters' though. That's 2 pick 6s on the season for him already. Let's see how many more he has in him :D.

Speaking of Chuck Clark, how freaking solid has he been lately for us?!

It's like God himself patted Harbaugh on his head saying he must start Chuck Clark. Then after the fruits of his labor and returns God shouted from the Heavens..

"AM I NOT MERCIFUL"

Indeed you are. Indeed!

lol Where does Tony Jefferson's brutal injury, which facilitated Clark's ascension, factor in with God's boasts of mercy?

god: "Hey John, I'm gonna need you to start Chuck Clark because Jefferson is clearly a liability to this entire team"

Harbaugh: "No can do. We've made Tony Jefferson a team leader! He's a great Tweeter and I can't bench him!"

god: "Fine, I'll do it myself."
