Why even have the sport at that point? The rule should exist to stop excessive stuff, like what happened twice to Davante Adams last year. As a TE in the past myself ,your instinct when you're about to get hit is to lower your head, at live speeds defenders are going to hit you with their helmets because it's a fast game and they're trying to stop you, and it should he totally legal. Your intent with the hit is malicious or unnecessary and not product of a full speed act of you unintentionally making contact with an offensive players helmet within a play.
