Slingin' Sammy
Easily the most disappointing team so far this season. From 12-4 last year to 2-5 already this year and finding new ways to lose games. Defense looks lousy, offense is inconsistent at best. I know they've had some injuries (they always do), but are there other factors at play? Rivers finally starting to decline? Coaching staff coming back down to earth? Key players regressing to the mean? Edited October 20, 2019 by Slingin' Sammy
JammerHammer21
The Chargers' struggles are purely because they are the Chargers. Edited October 21, 2019 by JammerHammer21

Injuries are bad this year but so were they last year and we were squeezing out wins weekly. Coaching is the problem as they team has been figured out has yet to adjust. Elky
Injuries and finding ways to underachieve has been the Charger way since 2004.
Chiefs FTW
Rivers has hit a brick wall at 37, he’s done and so are the Chargers
Malik
The Chargers are injured every year.
waterfish_21
Chargers talent is on the defensive side and they have their best player on that side on IR. Bosa has been good but he can't carry the entire defense. Offensively Melvin Gordon has always been a high usage but not supremely efficient player (Career rushing average of 4.0). They miss Tyrell Williams a lot. Travis Benjamin has been a one trick pony his entire career and he hasn't been tricking anyone lately. Mike Williams has been a huge letdown, from 10 TD's last year to 0 this year so far. And they have been using him in the red zone a lot too, its not because lack of opportunities. Multiple drops in the endzone, a few plays where he can't shift his body to get into position to make a tough catch. His lack of development from last year to this year set this offense back because of the loss of T. Williams. They expected him to make the leap, imo he has not. Also their best and most explosive player Austin Ekeler was benched for M. Gordon.

Stats don't tell everything. Often times they tell lies. But I don't think Rivers is the true reason the Chargers have been bad. He's turning the ball over a bit but he's still throwing the ball down the field giving his WR's chances like he has his entire career. Rivers: 183/276 66.3% 11TD/6INT 93.5 Rating Sacked 13 times 7 games Brady: 149/228 65.4% 10TD/3INT 97.5 Rating Sacked 10 times 6 games Brady hasn't needed to throw the ball as much and has faced much lesser opponents. Losing Pouncey was essentially the death blow for this offense.

He was doing fine before Pouncey went out. A good interior OL is so important for someone like Rivers.

ClutchDJ
If you just completely ignore their horrific OLine like a lot of people did over the offseason then yea they’re the most disappointing team in the NFL.
