ramssuperbowl99
Had said this was going to be his last year, but this confirms it. No brainer HoF career. And yes I started this thread because I wanted to say he was a Brewer for 3 months. @ me

I'd say all of those guys are basically locks. 19 year career, was the best pitcher in baseball in 2008 (again, @ me I will take that to the mat), accrued a metric crap ton of counting stats. Cy Young award winner who should have gotten a second one, but didn't because he was traded from the AL to the NL halfway through 2008, so I'm just going to say a 2 time CYA winner. Both the peak and longevity are there. HoFer. No doubt in my mind.

Dingo18287
He go in as a Yankee or Indian? I think they can choose to not have one on their hat as well.

Correct, Mussina went in that way, and Halladay's family decided to do the same. Wouldn't blame Sabathia for going the same route, though the longevity for the Yankees is there. bigbadbuff
Just looked up his numbers with the Brewers again. My God. Has to be the best rental of all time. 7 complete games and 3 shutouts in 17 starts lol.

Granted, the hit that should have been an error was a throwing error on CC, but still. Edited October 22, 2019 by ramssuperbowl99

He was more or less a JAG for the Yankees the past 6-7 years, so that apparently skewed my view of him. He was a very good, sometimes elite, pitcher for roughly 12 years. You're right, he's a HoFer. I was talking to a couple of casual Brewers fans the other day that thought he was here for two or three years.
