I figured.  But it's just amazing to me how much people are pushing for them though.  Someone is using the "James Harrison" argument against Colin Dunlap.  Hilarious.

I understand it to a degree. I'd take him over some of the other players they've kept but my expectations are lower.

I know he is scraps from a bad defense, but Skipper seemed like the better option over Chickillo in the preseason. While Chickillo's arrest appears to be nothing from what I was reading (supposedly restrained her after she hit him), I would take this opportunity to move on from a vet that they likely plan to move on from in the post season anyways. It's likely that Skipper doesn't end up being the player people want, but it isn't like Chickillo is a great option.

He is likely a better option than anyone available in FA, but he has exactly 1 noteworthy season. I don't know that I would give up any picks for him.

I'd at best give up a 2021 7th.

And I'd cut Switzer and Moncrief and Chickillo, bring back Roger's,  skipper, and STILL trade that 2021 7th for Beasley

I get that you like Rogers, but him vs. Switzer doesn't move the needle one bit IMO. He may be on his way to the Texans anyway.

The reason I say Roger's hasn't got anything to do with me liking him.

It's because he knows the offense. You can change Roger's to Trey Griffey and I'm fine with that. I also hope Rogers does land the gig in Houston. I think he will do well.

Honestly, Rogers is a JAG, nothing more. I'm pretty neutral on him except that with him, theyd likely be passing the ball beyond the line of scrimmage.

 I rather just call up Atlanta and offer a 2021 5th for Vic Beasley.

Vic Beasley is a guy that probably just needs a change of scenery to jump-start his career.  He looked like he was going to be an elite talent coming out of college and was a sacking machine, but the knock on him was always his lack of being one dimensional (pass rusher only).  This is a guy who was a top ten draft choice if I recall. I am sure he has a hefty salary and depending on how much of it is stuck on the Falcons books (bonus, etc). This would be a great opportunity for him to be a pass rush specialist. I know they won't give him away especially if they are committed to paying him or he just has a ton of dead money anyway. No need for the Falcons to just give him away.

Most of us were shocked the Steelers kept Chick over Skipper. We know what Chick gives us on special teams, but his OLB/Pass Rush ceiling does not appear to be much more than a career back-up. You don't want to cast a player away at the first sign of trouble.  Especially if it is something that may not be what is initially reported.  It is tough for a team/organization because if you support a player you may get crucified in the court of public opinion. I don't want to see Chick lose his job because of this incident if he is in fact innocent of the allegations.  Unfortunately. the timing and circumstances may be his undoing due to the fact Skipper was cut and he may have a higher OLB/pass rusher ceiling than Chick.

Yea, I don't think that I would cut Chickillo if it weren't for Skipper's availability, but this would be my opportunity to look more for the future at the position, which likely wasn't the plan at the beginning of the season. Get Skipper in so you know if he can contribute for you and then he is either more prepared for next season with Ben back or you move on. Either way Chickillo wasn't likely to be on the roster next year, so this should give a head start on the process. I wouldn't even make this a case of cutting him due to his legal situation.
