BroncosFan2010
Surprised they didn't make a move for Sanders but Sanu is paid less in 2 years than Manny this season alone so its not that wild. The contract situation of Sanu definatley played into his R2 evaluation by NE. 3.8M then 6.5M is really cheap for a competent WR in this era. But since that got Brady and BB it's like people cant see them. What team hasn’t?
ET80
Sanu is totally a Patriots WR...
Wyld Stallyns
Zach Moore of OvertheCap did an article about the Falcons cap hell for 2020 and in the article he stated that of all the big cap guys on the team that Sanu was the only player overplaying his contract or, at the least, playing near his contract value. Falcons were estimated to be $8.7 million over the cap (if it’s $200 M) they save about $5.1 million after this trade. On top of whatever cap space they gain for this year that they can rollover. https://overthecap.com/the-atlanta-falcons-bleak-outlook-in-2020/
SmittyBacall
Appears like a steep price on the surface, but there's a good chance this is the 61st or 62nd pick next year. I also don't mind the Patriots going all in and paying the premium considering this could very well be Brady's last year. Now give us a 4th and 5th pick for Eifert and Glenn.

Cheap TEs weren't available and we don't have the cap space for expensive WRs like Green and Sanders with their cap hits. Sanu might have been the only target. ATL probably knew that and we had to overpay. They had leverage.

And the fact that Sanu plays with the toughness and blocking skills of a receiving TE isn't hurting either.

Don't get me wrong. If there is a team to get away with making this bad deal it's the Patriots. Good addition but could have been had for less. BStanRamFan
An early 3rd round pick for what I think is an underrated WR. Didn't get a real chance to shine as a #2 WR when they drafted Ridley. He's shifty, got hands like glue, and a solid frame. He can also throw a football about 70 yards. I think he will thrive in New England. So we either wouldn't get anybody or overpay for Sanu
SmittyBacall
I'm definitely going to put money on Sanu throwing a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl.
