Why? Sounds exactly like the players they sign.

We sign D-bags, but in terms of his play - it was a strange one. We need 2 gappers in his position. It's all about discipline. He's good at just pinning ears back and taking on a man one-on-one. Bill would have known this....strange

Nice pick up as long as he's on board with Still being a rotational DE/DT playing 20 or so snaps. Was honestly hoping given all of our injuries Howie was interested as well. Curious whether his attitude as a Eagle nip that idea from even occuring in the bud?

He is not on board with only playing 20 snaps a game. That’s the issue.

He probably could play more than he was in New England. The issues were:

1) New England moved back to a 3-4 this year as it fit the personnel better- Danny Shelton, Butler, Collins, ect. all have produced very well in that system this year;

2) he did not two gap. he wanted to simply sell out to rush the passer.  If you do not play in the system, you get dumped. Jamie Collins who made the pro bowl in his first New England stint started free styling in his contract year and was dumped to the Browns (Collins has, of course, returned and played exceptionally).

In other words Bennett’s problem was fit.

I was thinking MB ran himself out of a perfect situation (What an undisciplined fool), but reading the thread it seems it's just Bill doing what Bill does. Dude is never afraid to pull the trigger if things don't quite fit. Shrewd character, that's why he's the best.

Tbf, Dallas isn't a bad landing spot for Bennett.

He's a solid player.  Think he's more of a talented athlete than anything else though.  Patriots need players that have strengths to plug and play into whatever schemes they're planning.  Bennett has a lot of strengths but, I think he's best when allowed to work with some freedom.  Bennett will be good on a "less planned out" defense purely based on his athletic traits imo
