Sure a pass interference at the start of the 2nd quarter hurts, but it seems [insert team here] gets those calls just when they need them. It doesn’t add up.” You'll never convince some people. How about that timing? Fumble blown dead

LeotheLion
49ers commit double the penalties as NO. Saints still lose at home.
AlNFL19
People who think NE gets wins from the refs have some explaining to do.
Dan_Bali
Today was the worst I’ve seen in years. you have you investigate that, can only be illegal betting on the game outcome by the refs. it was criminal.
Elky
I don't think the refs are corrupt moreso than they are hopelessly incompetent. I can understand the usual missed holding call, but not one part of Harry's body went out of bounds. We just have more cameras and better angles to judge the human refs. Some of this is just society not trusting the refs/judges of anything. I would refer everyone to a podcast by Michael Lewis ( Moneyball) called Against the Rules for more information on this. Is their bias? You bet. There is documented proof of NFL refs showing bias at one time or another. Do they make some very very strange interpretations of rules at times. Some of this is the vagueness of some of the rules. Some of it is trying not to be wrong. Some of it is just bad calls that are happening very fast. In the end, the NFL will generally back them because if they do not then the casual fan will lose faith in the game and the NFL loses money. This. ^^^ People complaining about referees spans all sports, it's not just the NFL - so that would suggest that the likelihood of corruption is pretty damn low. aceinthehouse
I'm no longer naive to think the NFL isn't fixed or rigged somehow. I used to believe football(specially NFL) was the purest of sports. That all stopped in 2001. New England PATRIOTS vs Oakland. Right after 911. And I'm a Redskins fan. Nobody on this board will ever be able to convince me, otherwise. But I love the game, so I still watch. I think it's got blatantly obvious, since then. I mean c'mon....Rams vs Saints Championship game last year? Funny thing is...the chiefs vs Pat's was worse, imo. Brady throws int....game over! Right? Nope, Brady's helmet was grazed by a finger...personal foul, automatic 1st down. It's been going on since at least the "tuck rule". We'll, at least....that's when I opened my eyes to see my favorite game full of corruption. Maybe it was going on before then... That’s a matter of fact, non-judgement, correct call.

The one late in the 4th quarter, where the ball was thrown to Gronk in the flat, tipped, and picked? That Brady threw a pick & either Justin Houston or Jones grazed Brady's helmet & missed the sack. Brady throws an int. The Chiefs we're already winning at this point. This would have ended the game, cause the Patriots were out of timeouts I believe at this point. Maybe they had 1. I don't remember who picked off the pass. But a flag was thrown for roughing the passer or personal foul. Thus extending the drive for Patriots & nullifying the int.

And NE had three timeouts. You’re mixing this up with the would-be interception that was nullified by a correct offsides penalty. aceinthehouse
I checked... Yes, it was the Chris Jones grazing the helmet personal foul call. That's the one.

I mean I get that the Patriots was kind of a symbolic thing, but if the NFL was going to rig it for a team in 2001 wouldn't it have made more sense for them to have tried to rig it for one of the NY teams? I guess the 9/11 planes did come out of Boston, but still. Also that call was correct, it was just an insanely stupid rule.
