amazingandre
Will he hang it up? How will we generate pressure without him?
ET80
Ugh...I can't honestly say he's coming back. No real opportunity to find a replacement for him next season, either. This is not a fun situation.

Pastor Dillon
how is it possible that we can have such bad luck with injuries this season? Omenahu is now going to have to be a starter.
jch1911
There always seems to be a price to be paid in Houston sports fandom... Rockets win, Astros win, Texans win.... JJ out for the year... To be fair, last time we lost a major Texan (DW4)... Astros won a ship...
tab
this season feels over. Like its going to take some real magic to make a deep playoff run

Like its going to take some real magic to make a deep playoff run I think Deshaun has that sort of magic to lean on. It'll depend on how you quantify a "deep playoff run" but it'll keep us going, and it'll keep Watson in the MVP conversation.
ET80
The discussion on the day has DJ Reader kicking out to DE and Brandon Dunn taking snaps at NT, with Angelo Blackson and Charles Omenihu rotating at the other end. I'm sure Carlos Watkins figures into the discussion as well. This is Reader's big moment. He's in a contract year, and has some solid performances at DE over the past few years, if he can step into Watt's spot and produce, he'll command some good money. We were in such a mess Sunday that I’m pretty sure Cunningham and Cole were playing CB
Drained
Seeing people saying he might just end up retiring, that'd suck. Everytime he gets injured he comes back just as good if not more motivated.
jch1911
Since it's trade deadline day and we now need a new pass rusher (i haz a sad ).... Trade DE Carlos Dunlap or Geno Atkins (CIN) Bengals ain't going nowhere DE Soloman Thomas (SF) fits our current MO (former 1st rounder who is underperforming) Claim Off of Practice Squads DE James Looney (GB) OLB / DE Cameron Malveaux (KC) played at UH OLB / DE Kendall Donnerson (OAK) Hope Eagles cut Albert Huggins and Texans reclaim him
Hunter2_1
Here's to Watt. The best defensive player I've ever seen. He'll be back.
Pastor Dillon
From a cap standpoint, we don’t owe Watt anything after this season, he’s got no dead money should he be cut. I don’t like the idea of cutting him at all but at 15 million hit next season and 17 million the following, that’s a lot of money to give someone who can stay on the field. Maybe he will agree to a restructure like 30 million over 3 years or something.

I think he may work with the team and maybe take an incentive laden reworked contract Edited October 30, 2019 by lumberjackchris
Uncle Buck
This is pretty cool of JJ. At least he is finding a way to make a contribution somehow.
