RavensfanRD
Sounds like they setting up for a pass-rusher! And I'm a Snead fan, so I'll take it.
diamondbull424
Probably reading way too far into this, but this might be a sign that Hayden Hurst will be traded soon. Hurst and Snead have too similar of a skillset and IMO the only way to get Hurst more opportunities is for Snead to see less. Though if Hurst is traded, Sneads value to us increases as a reliable third/fourth receiver option behind Brown and Andrews, while in a similar space as Boykin. We’ll see though. Perhaps the team simply likes the offensive core entirely and don’t have plans to use it to upgrade the defensive pass rush in any manner. But we’ll see. Unless of course this deal is more about guaranteeing the future team with more years of Sneads services upon a trade. But that doesn’t sound as likely. He runs the same routes as our TEs (who can also block and win high passes) and isn't really fast enough to break big plays. He's not a BAD player, so $6M isn't terrible to keep a slot guy. Doesn't seem like something he had to do now, unless the needed to shift some cash around.
berlin calling
i like breaking the cycle of signing journey men at the end of their career every season to try and field a WR corps.
