1. Grade the season so far

A

2. What was our best game/performance so far?

at NYJ

3. Who has been your top 3 players of the season, so far?

Gilmore, Butler and Collins

4. What player has surprised you the most?

Adam Butler...damn

5. What is your main concern going into the second half of the reg season?

Probably the OL, followed by run game but they're mostly tied up together

6. Who has disappointed you the most?

Maybe Antonio. He was given a great opportunity, and couldn't help act up off the field. He'd have solved problems on O

7. Which injury has been the most costly?

David Andrews

8. Is this a historically good D that can rival the likes of 00 Ravens, or is it just an elite/very good defense for this season?

I'll go with the second one, with the hope that we can continue how we have been. THEN everyone has to bow to this unit.

9. Does this team make you feel more/less/about the same level of confidence as the 07 team did?

Slightly less, because you went into every game with the 07 team knowing they will light the opposition up. It completely took the edge off.

10. Predict the remaining schedule; @BAL, @PHI, DAL, @HOU, KC, @CIN, BUF, MIA - 14-2

bonus question: How do we feel about being 8-0?

ARRRR YEA!

1. Grade the season so far

B+

2. What was our best game/performance so far?

Im going week 1 like @SBLIII

3. Who has been your top 3 players of the season, so far?

1. Gilmore

2. Collins

3. KVN

4. What player has surprised you the most?

Tom Brady, for the not good reason

5. What is your main concern going into the second half of the reg season?

No real offensive identity. I'd really like to see the double back set we saw week one with Rex and White in shot gun

6. Who has disappointed you the most?

Josh Gordon

7. Which injury has been the most costly?

Wynn

8. Is this a historically good D that can rival the likes of 00 Ravens, or is it just an elite/very good defense for this season?

Too early IMO

9. Does this team make you feel more/less/about the same level of confidence as the 07 team did?

Less, but thats because its easier to feel comfortable when you can score at will. I was more stressed during the last SB rather than against Philly

10. Predict the remaining schedule; @BAL, @PHI, DAL, @HOU, KC, @CIN, BUF, MIA

L, W, L, L, L, W, W, W - 12-4

Why does everyone think we're losing to Houston? They just lost JJ Watt and we've historically owned them.

I think it's an L because they've a good interior D, so our run game will go no where. Plus I think Watson is a QB that can move the ball on our 3rd down blitzes we're sending out, and he's being kept clean for the first time. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Watt has never bothered us.

Bros. Let's see what you're saying

Yeah bros let's get it.

1. Grade the season so far

A, undefeated and lots of entertaining defensive touchdowns.

2. What was our best game/performance so far?

Week 1 against the Steelers

3. Who has been your top 3 players of the season, so far?

James White, Joe Thuney, Devin McCourty

4. What player has surprised you the most?

Jamie Collins

5. What is your main concern going into the second half of the reg season?

Stephon Gilmore giving up a few plays a game. So essentially no major concerns. I'm not worried about the run game, run defense, pass offense, or even the offensive line staying healthy.

6. Who has disappointed you the most?

Shaq Mason

7. Which injury has been the most costly?

David Andrews

8. Is this a historically good D that can rival the likes of 00 Ravens, or is it just an elite/very good defense for this season?

Yes, it is historic.

9. Does this team make you feel more/less/about the same level of confidence as the 07 team did?

Same, if not more because I think they're offense is trending up.

10. Predict the remaining schedule; @BAL, @PHI, DAL, @HOU, KC, @CIN, BUF, MIA

Win, Win, Win, Win, Win, Win, Win, Win

bonus question: How do we feel about being 8-0?

Newhouse and TE group.

7. Which injury has been the most costly?
Andrews

8. Is this a historically good D that can rival the likes of 00 Ravens, or is it just an elite/very good defense for this season?

No, just Elite/Very good.  Next few games will be telling.

Hes basically putting up the same production as last year without an offensive line and with all the turnover at receiver / no Gronk, plus he’s 42.  Not sure how much more you could have expected from the guy.  Oh and hes led us to 8-0.

Bros. Let's see what you're saying

1. Grade the season so far

A-

Can’t complain about 8-0 but offense is an issue and the competition really has been poor

2. What was our best game/performance so far?

Miami

3. Who has been your top 3 players of the season, so far?

Jamie Collins, Devin McCourty, Tom Brady

4. What player has surprised you the most?

Good - Collins

Bad - Josh Gordon (wasn’t really expecting him to stay on the field, but didn’t expect performance / effort to be an issue)

5. What is your main concern going into the second half of the reg season?

No offensive line to protect Brady

6. Who has disappointed you the most?

Josh Gordon

7. Which injury has been the most costly?

Wynn but have a bad feeling it’ll be Gostkowski by the end of the year

8. Is this a historically good D that can rival the likes of 00 Ravens, or is it just an elite/very good defense for this season?

Historically good.  May not put up numbers like 00 Ravens at the end of the day, only because of changes to rules and better offenses, but in comparison to peers will be one of the GOAT

9. Does this team make you feel more/less/about the same level of confidence as the 07 team did?

Less only because we lived through 07 and that team lost

10. Predict the remaining schedule; @BAL, @PHI, DAL, @HOU, KC, @CIN, BUF, MIA

19-0 tbh

bonus question: How do we feel about being 8-0?

On to Baltimore

Most of that production is due to great field position on behalf of the D. He is on pace for 50 less first downs and has already been blitzes as much as he had in all 16 games last year(100 times through 8 games vs 108 times through all 16). That last stat alone should scare people. Brady has always been really good against the blitz, however he is being blitzed twice as much. He isnt beating the blitz like he used to and if teams arent afraid to blitz they will throw him off his game. Maybe the eye test isnt telling the story. Maybe the lack of 1st downs (IE ability to move up and down the field) is because the defense has been so so good he just hasnt had to.

Look at the entire offense and things are, well mediocre. We are in the bottom half of the league in terms of yards per drive, points per drive, and drive success rate despite having the second best starting field position on average (SF is first). Then again, he has zero help from the run game which sports a league lowest 3.2 yard per carry and a middle of the pack total yardage despite being top 5 in rushing attempts. Last year this team was top 5 in rushing yards.

So yes, Brady's production has been on par to last year. However, the offense as a whole suffers and I would expect a player of Brady's caliber to pick up his game. That's the more I expected of him. While he personally might be standing pat the offense is not and he has not elevating his game like he has in the past to compensate.
