As a first round pick, his 4th year is completely guaranteed. We pay him regardless if he plays for us or not. I think he will be given a chance to win the starting spot, but there is no way IMO that Pace goes into 2018 expecting him to be a key component. Like Fuller, he will have to earn his reps and if he can win the spot, great. If not, then they won't worry about the 5th year and wave goodbye.
