Film can fix that. Did he do it? Film can't fix the way you necessarily process information or perform on a football field. There are dozens of players that pour their hearts out, are in the film room, but still can't hack it in the pros. Especially at QB. Just because they aren't playing well on the field doesn't mean they aren't trying their best. Unless you followed Colin around all day, there really isn't anything to point at that says he wasn't watching film, or spending hours just in the gym. You literally don't know his routine. Just the results. Tim Tebow probably watched tons of film. He sucked. Edited November 5, 2019 by PapaShogun

Just never took that next step. I just get irked with narratives that seemingly came out of thin air when a player struggles. Rodney Harrison said the same thing about Colin on a national broadcast focusing on his abs too much instead of applying himself more when Colin started to play bad. The same Rodney Harrison who said Colin wasn't black, and later had to apologize for his ignorant comments. The guy has zero idea who Colin is, was never around the 49ers facilities, but can make dumb lies like that to the nation. Where was the criticism before when the 49ers were winning games? Colin being a thug because he had tattoos was another dreamed up narrative by folks. The entire situation reminds me of Aaron Rodgers a few years ago having to take crap from the public speculating about the strained relationship with his family when wasn't playing that well during the season. I think it was 2016 before they ran the table. Then the Packers won games, and the talked shifted to how great Aaron is again. One day Jimmy G is going to go through a rough patch at some point in his career where he isn't playing well, or the team isn't winning, and it's going to suck to witness the vultures swoop in and go for the low hanging fruit. "Maybe he should spend less time with pornstars or hitting on reporters and get back to studying film..." When I think of 49er QB's I often think how Smith was the next hope in that great line of QB's. I respected him so much. Yes Harbs made Smith better but he also created Kap. Sure Kap had a good game against the bears that Monday night, but it wasn't so amazing to where you had to stick with him. I agree.. it really bothers me that Smith never even got a chance to get his job back after that injury.

burlow
Despite being a niners fan for as long as I watched football - early 90s, I grew up in true northern California up b Oregon on the coast. I attended one game live in my entire time of being a fan, the game... we got shut out by the Josh Freeman lead bucs... that is haunting.
