Then again Jay Gruden was handcuffed to Haskins eventhough he didnt want him. Skins just need to move on from the GM President and everything down start fresh, even if it is the owner they still can manage to have a better organization with the right personnel. As for the game this week jumping the gun and saying get Bills D in fantasy is crazy he still has talent as he was drafted 1st rd and nothing is a give me. 8 games and havent totaled 100 points yet. Redskins Super Bowl Era record I believe. Its a pretty safe bet to roll with the Bills D. They arnt going to up and magically toss 40 on a team. When they scored 33 for all October. EL Guapo
I got in a small bet on the Bills when I heard the rumors but it looks like the line only went from -9.5 to -10. It was already high for the Bills offense but they can get more turnovers now

When has such a situation proved whether or not someone is a good QB or not? Drafting a new QB now is just immediately throwing away assets. exactly. He does have a good arm and does seem to be a smart kid. He isn't anywhere close to being ready but getting some experience should do him well, even in losses and bad performances. He seems to be resilient in his mindset, so I am not worried about him from that standpoint. They need to give him 2-3 years before drafting another QB in the first. Oh how easily people forget Jared Goff's rookie season before McVay got there. This is as much an audition to be the starter next year as it is to put some film out there to try and convince an offensive coach to come work with him next year.

So doing what the Cardinals did with Rosen and running Haskins out of town when he hasn't even been given a fair shake would be really stupid, especially considering they'd be setting any other QB up for failure The only reason it worked for Arizona is that Kyler was more or less the ideal fit for the offensive system that Klingsbury wanted to run, not to mention their OL wasn't great so having a mobile QB helps a lot compared to Rosen who is more of a traditional dropback, part of why he struggled in Miami as well.

Haskins has already beaten out Burrow once. I'm sure he'd welcome the opportunity to do it again. Anyway, I love that expectations are so low for him now. Hope he feels free to just go out there and sling it.
Nabbs4u
God help him because after the drumming that Defense took last week, let's just say the Bills will be highly motivated to put that behind them.
bzane
Thank God that expectations are set low in Washington for Dwayne Haskins' Arrival!
naptownskinsfan
The only reason they are doing this is to take the heat off the team from the Trent Williams saga and giving the media and fans something else to cover and talk about. Sad situation for Haskins, but alas, here we are.
aceinthehouse
Very big game for rookie QB Dwayne Haskins today. He needs to have a decent, to very good game vs a pretty good Bills team. Bill Callahan wants to win now, even though our season is over. But he's also coaching for his future either with us, or another team. A bad debut start, even as a rookie? Then Bill will promptly start Keenum after our bye week. Today, Haskins needs to show why he was drafted #15. If he can raise some eyebrows with good QB play? He'll at least provide a little hope for himself & for Redskins fans. But most importantly, he'll give himself a boost of confidence that he sorely needs. This Bills game, is probably the biggest game for the Redskins up to this point. Specially, for Haskins.
Slateman
He was mediocre. He looked frantic in the pocket. He was basically a one read and scramble QB. He missed receivers. In comparison to how Murray and Jones look, Haskins is no where near as developed as they are.

Haskins was always the most raw prospect coming out of the 3. Not to mention Murray and Jones had more support within their organizations and reps with the 1st string so far in comparison to Haskins. Haskins still has a ways to go, but considering the fact everyone knew he needed to sit for at a year to refine his mechanics and get more experience etc, he didn't look bad. Will be interesting to see how the rest of the season goes for him, especially not against such a strong defense like the Bills.

Which is why it was such a terrible pick for an organization with a lame duck HC and GM that needed to be fired years ago. There's no structure in place to groom this guy and the people in the building now likely won't be next year.
HTTRDynasty
I like that he's already looking off defenders. He just really needs to spend the off-season finding the best mechanics/footwork guru available and working with him 8 hours a day. That is his primary issue right now, and it's making his accuracy erratic. Edited November 5, 2019 by HTTRDynasty
