Eagles WR DeSean Jackson to have core surgery; may miss season

This isn't at all surprising for Eagles fans who paid attention.

DeSean was advised by at least one doctor to get the surgery after it happened week 2.

He would've been back in 6-8 weeks aka..... now.

Instead we threw him in against the Bears right before a bye week.

Our training staff is clueless. Maybe not as much as the one in Washington... but yeah.

Yeah and we just fired our training/medical staff last year in favor of a new one. This is sad. Eagles are to medical staffs as the Browns are to QBs.

I agree he was rushed back. Eagles and Cowboys down the stretch should be a dogfight for the division. Jackson being out for the Eagles takes away from that division battle.

I don't think he was rushed back. He sat out like 7 games when it was supposed to be like 2 or 3 lol.

He didn't get surgery when he needed to because obviously this injury just wasn't going to completely heal by itself.

The Eagles entire medical staff drop the ball one this one. He should have just got the surgery week 1 and would be back by now. Not having him is going to hurt the offense. Our WRs have been awful this year, and all they do is drop the ball.

Desean and Malik Jackson were suppose to be our big additions... and we lost both in the first week.

Jackson is a nearly 33 yr old WR who hasn't played a full 16 game season since 2013, not sure why anybody was counting on him to reverse that trend

This specific surgery isn't a slam dunk option, which is why both the Eagles and the independent MDs suggested healing, resting and rehab. There are several documented cases with this injury that the surgery wasn't the panacea that the fans surmise it to be. Medical practice isn't black and white, its mostly gray and there are legit medical reasons to advocate for the non-surgical approach. With all the info available, they made the best choice...but it didn't work out

Its nobody's fault and nobody effed up, its a just function of medical reality.
The same medical reality that shows some players were actually worse off after the surgery.
