However, Stefanski was an NFL assistant coach for 13 years before becoming OC.  Klint Kubiak has been an NFL assistant coach for 7 years.

Klint has probably been a pseudo-assistant coach his entire lifetime.  While I think if they can hire Anthony Lynn for a year, that would be a bonus, but I think they'd be okay giving Klint the reins.  There'd be enough veteran coaching support around him to succeed.

I really just want James Campen to be brought in... if we are sticking to the taking of developmental type, late round, lineman.  No one has done better with those guys in recent memory.

I was on the Campen bandwagon too, but after taking a closer look, has he? Or are we just remembering him in GB?

Looking at what he did with the OL in Cleveland, and then seeing what they did once he was gone, plus the awful blocking in Los Angeles, I just don’t know.

Using PFF, in 2018 before Campen arrived, Cleveland ranking 3rd in pass blocking and 14th in run blocking. In 2019, with Campen, Cleveland ranked 17th in pass blocking and 29th in run blocking. And in 2020, again without Campen, Cleveland ranked 1st in both run and pass blocking.

In Los Angeles, the Chargers ranked 31st in pass blocking and 27th in run blocking in 2019. And in 2020, after Campen arrived, nothing got better as they ranked 30th in pass blocking and 32nd in run blocking.

This is a quote from an anonymous lineman.  Yikes, and Mike Remmers improvement possibly shows this issue big time with how he looks totally different in a different system with a different coach.  Still those pass blocking rankings are flat out awful and have been for awhile.  The one season they are only 17th in pass blocking, they are what 13-3.

“Anyone that blames Kirk for what is going on is out of their mind. He had an exceptional OL when they were healthy in Washington, aside from Spencer Long, and the OL there was run by a technician in Bill Callahan. When you watched the OL there things were intentional, every single guy on the Vikings OL plays with different technique,” the anonymous lineman told Purple PTSD’s Joe Johnson.

“Sometimes a certain guy will do a certain thing different to suit his abilities/skill set but here it looks like the Vikings OL doesn’t even have a coach. It looks like they get handed a piece of paper and someone says, go ahead and figure it out on your own.”

Smart hire by Campbell. Will be very curious to see what they do with Stafford this offseason. One could argue that it would be wise for them to move on and start over with a rebuild but Stafford can still play. You’d think he’d want out at this stage of his career. Imagine if he could finish up his career on a team like the Colts, Bucs or Saints.

Very interesting, sure the Colts could come calling.  No clue who their QB would be though, maybe they could steal Zach Wilson if he is there but if it is Trey Lance great for him but not sure he is ready to be a full time starter out the gate.

Do the Saints have the cap room though?  I thought they are already over the cap next year by about 95 million?

They could bring in Jameis Winston if necessary, since he's a FA and won't be returning to NO.
