Would he have much control over the offense?

Maybe stefanski will reach out to him

Well probably not, but he experience with dealing with complete duds of QB’s, which Nagy really hasn’t. Could he make Trubisky into a Keenum?

im guessing it will be a big part of money now. 99.9% chance Shurmur never lands a head coaching job again.

well looks like Paton might head that way with Stefanski, but I was honestly looking to see if Stefanski would try and grab any of our defensive coaches to bring with him also.

Vikings’ George Paton and Berry two of the Browns’ top GMs candidates

The Browns are expected to put in a request soon to interview Vikings assistant GM George Paton, who’s been with Stefanski for most of his 14-year career in Minnesota. Paton completed his 13th season with the Vikings, working side-by-side with GM Rick Spielman to build playoff teams six times since 2008. Paton would have final say over roster decisions in Cleveland, Jimmy Haslam said in his season-ending press conference.

Before Minnesota, Paton spent six seasons as Dolphins’ Director of Pro Personnel. He began his NFL career with the Bears, finishing as assistant director of pro personnel.

Steve Wilks was set to be Stefanski’s hire last year

Wilks was set to be Stefanski’s defensive coordinator if he got the Browns’ job last year, a league source said. He deserves consideration again this year given all the injuries and adversity on his defense in 2019. Wilks was without his two starting cornerbacks for four games early on, and then lost Myles Garrett to a suspension for the final six games of the season. He was also without starting defensive end Olivier Vernon (knee) the second half of the season and fielded newly-acquired linemen down the stretch.

Wilks’ defense finished seventh against the pass despite all the injuries, and 22nd overall.

Browns offensive coordinator Todd Monken, never given a chance to call plays by Freddie Kitchens, is not expected to remain with the Browns.

Sounds like Berry is the front runner

So Monken might be available after-all.

If we are going to go the complete other way.... again, when he was the OC in Tampa he thru the ball all over the place and had the top passing offense in the NFL.

He might not be a great fit from what Zimmer has wanted the past few years buuuuut if they want a talented coach Monken is the guy.

People can cry about losing Kevin Stafanski, I on the other hand do not really care and don't think it matters much.  Fact is no OC will be around at all unless the OL improves greatly and coaching is not going to get that done.  They need better players their in at least two if not three spots on the OL.

Looking back at the draft 2019, would they have been better off with Dalton Risner, I would say yeah possibly.  Not to mention Cody Ford or Andre Dillard but Risner for sure which is a player I liked over Bradbury at the time.  Not sure who would be the center but Risner had a much better rookie year than Bradbury.  Bradbury has upside and fits the system but also struggled at times with power.  Where Risner would at least get Eflein the hell out of the lineup and sadly if they traded up in the 2nd round could have got Erik McCoy as well, and who knows if Bradbury falls Saints maybe take him and Vikings could have got McCoy who has arguably been a little better center overall.

Regardless who is the OC that OL needs to be improved in every which way.  Going to be tough with their draft position and all the interior OL who are returning to school that could have been in the Vikings range.

Honestly the line is only really in desperate need of big upgrade at LG. Obviously Bradbury needs to pan out and his up and down season is ceremon concerning.

Reiff and Kline are both pretty an average and future upgrades need to be considered there (Samia?), but Elfin and Bradbury's bad games which were far and away the biggest problems this year.

Oh and the fact that Kirk needs such a high floor of play from his line, but....we don't talk about that
