Even BUBBLE slant puts a lot of stress on your force defender. He can't play both the bubble and get into the slant window, and the MLB will have to plug the dive. There's no variation there stressing the force defender more than 1 way. It's an absolute embarrassment.

Yeah things like this are what I classify as "cheap & easy offense."

We do none of this stuff for some reason. Simple concepts that no zone defense can cover. And if we think we're gonna see man, run bunch and pick the crap out of people running crossers.

I also think we are so afraid of our Ol that we refuse to take deep shots. I know our OL is not good, but it's not so bad that we can't get 3 seconds to throw a freaking deep shot. I just don't understand what our philosophy is.

IMO splitting the difference on double tight/3 WR personnel is just awful. Either go bigger or spread the field and stress the defense. I don't like our heavy personnel, so I'd completely throw that away the rest of the year. Stick with 3 WR and a TE, or even 3 WR and 2 RB now that Chubb/Hunt are a tandem. Why go double tight when our TE suck? I don't get it.

So many 2-3 WR routes instead of 4-5 eligible.

We need to mix in more drag routes, crossing concepts, and high percentage concepts like a smash/hitch, scissors/wheel post, etc. It gets Baker a half field read and 2-3 WR route combo where he only has to read a force defender or high safety look.

The CB bails, hit the hitch. The CB plays press, hit the smash. The OLB sits on the short route, throw the wheel...if he turns his head, hit the checkdown.

I don't get it.

Yep.

Bubble screens, slants, jet sweeps, shovel passes (or so I thought), halfback/TE screens are easy ways to build some confidence in Baker and put the ball in playmakers hands.  We seem to like to make things difficult more times than not.

Without seeing the all 22 to see if they’re even giving Baker some deep options, it seems like Baker is afraid to pull the trigger.

When he sees Calloway or Juice or OBJ in man coverage consistently, he’s gotta lay it out there and let those guys go get it.

We don't run any flood concepts. That's straight money against zone defenses. Like...unstoppable if run correctly.

We need to motion our guys around to see what they're in and either run zone or man beaters depending on their alignment.

And with a struggling young QB, it's easy. They subtly learn to identify concepts like man, press man, cover 2, 1-2 post high safety or rotating force defenders without even having to teach it, because they learn through experience a 1-2 read.

We need to break the huddle with more than 12 seconds left before we're able to do this. It's embarrassing.

Yup. RPO's are so hard to execute when you don't know what coverage teams are in. That seems like our favorite pass concept. I like RPO's sprinkled in every once in a while, but you can't do it against disguised coverage.

What bothers me about Freddie is his stubbornness. I don’t buy the “good ol humble southern boy” persona he tries to display. It took him until the damn New England game to start electing to play defense first and receive the ball in the 2nd half. When literally every team does that. That’s a coach trying too hard and not being smart.

He continues to want Baker throwing it 30+ times. Even though Baker is terrible.

Baker as a rookie was a good enough QB to win a superbowl. He carried our team last season and was our best player. You haven't once yet responded to why Baker looked so good last year. I know you hated him as a prospect and now you get to 'be right' but the kid looked like a future MVP level player last season and now hes *** and the main difference is we hired a retard to coach the team.

Here’s my response to that: Teams didn’t have film on him last year and Baker was more focused and not shooting commercials.

Why is Baker not the next RG3?

Before this gets twisted / confused. I am all aboard the blame Freddie train as well.

why does everyone resort to commericals being his downfall? Do people think he literally spent the entire offseason shooting commercials and getting married and not doing anything what so ever training wise?

We could blame that, if that was the only variable from last year and this year and everything else stayed constant but its not like that. Maybe if the offense was exactly same as last year, we could blame that but the offense has changed and for some reason doesnt want to focus on his strengths. Hell last year, I remember Freddie made a big deal getting input from everyone and only running things players like, players feel confident in running, and plays that focused on players strengths. We dont see those kind of things at all. Well, we only have seen it once and that was vs the Ravens

In the land of the blind, the homer with one eye is king.

Honestly, when did Bones become the most reasonable voice in the room. A lot of the negativity spewing on here is homer-level but in the wrong direction.

Because it’s low hanging fruit tbh.

It can be irking when the guy is struggling and the team is losing and you see his mug plastered all over the screen after another interception, but the commercials aren’t the issue.

I do question what he did all offseason because he clearly looks to have regressed, but I don’t think a guy is incapable of shooting some commercials and focusing on his job appropriately.
