Cheesehawk
Antonio Freeman cant even wear his Super Bowl ring anymore because Favre broke all of his fingers.
Calvert28
Favre. Few QBs can match that arm.
Fl0nkerton
I think there was a story that Jerry Glanville used to bet people that Brett could throw the ball up to the third deck of Fulton County Stadium or the Georgia Dome or whatever and he did it fairly easily. DirtyDez
Favre had a laser. Elway’s had an effortless canon. see throw at :50
sledgehammer
Yeah effortless canon describes Elway well. I feel like Favre had more velocity (didn't they test him at 80 mph or something; that's legitimately lethal) but as far as distance goes it might have been close between them. RandyMossIsBoss
It's tough also because Elway didn't wind up like Favre, when all things are considered I bet Elway's ball were being delivered just as quickly as Favre's when we're taking short-intermediate, which makes going off pure velocity misleading (which I'm sure Favre beats him in). A peak Favre throw in any given game is probably coming in hotter than an Elway throw, but for Elway that thing would just fly out of his hands. They're both in that "insane" arm territory where it seems to close to call.

I think Favre enjoyed hurting his receivers though. Actually I know he did, because he said so. Nevertheless he was very good at it.
Leoric
Favre for me, although I don't think he ever actually threw the ball. The earth just rotated in the right direction to make Lord Favre happy.

PARROTHEAD
“They used to set the Jugs machines at 70 to 80 mph for us receivers to simulate John’s throws,” recalls Elway’s former receiver, Rod Smith. Farves longest during the qb challenge in 98 was 74 yards and thats without pads. https://www.facebook.com/Packers/videos/1998-qb-challenge-longest-throw/349820975889442/ Heres Elway throwing farther than that in a game, in pads and with planted feet in HIGH SCHOOL.
