They have had a depleted WR corps pretty much all year. He couldn't have been that awful....makes no sense.

So did/have we and we cut him twice. Eagles did the same thing we had in mind - go with younger guys. It just didn't work out for them. For us, Deebo/Bourne stepped it up to give us three fairly reliable targets.

Our guys were not producing. They pretty much had a lack of bodies for most of the year with Jeffrey, D-Jax, & Aghlor all missing significant time. Is what it is...

If Jones is back for our first playoff matchup 100% healthy then his loss for these last few games doesnt bother me at all really. I'm kinda excited to see Street and Solly get a bunch of snaps in the interior. Next to Buckner we should still have a beasty front.

Secondary injuries are way more concerning imo, Ward is always a snap a way from a bone break. Tartt's rib injury might not fully heal til next year, Sherms hammy/knee sucks, K'waun isn't easily replaced by anyone on the roster, and Witherspoon just got over a 6 week injury to his foot.

Meh...you're coming to the wrong conclusion. Their bad luck with injury outside of DeSean Jackson is recent.

Jeffrey missed three games, one early in the season when Jackson was active and they didn't need anybody to fill in. The only other two games Jeffrey missed were Week 11 and 12 recently. Nelson Agholor missed Week 12 and last week and might return this week. That's hardly "significant."

What's significant is that Jackson was lost for the year and Jeffrey was going to miss week 11 so the Eagles went out and added Jordan Matthews. Then Agholor missed Week 12 with Jeffrey. Then Jeffrey and Agholor returned Week 13.

At that point, the Eagles decided to go with their younger players, namely the second round pick they made and gave every opportunity to produce, but he hasn't (sound familiar?) in JJ Arcega-Whiteside, first-year player Greg Ward, and their 2017 fourth round pick in Mack Hollins. Along with getting Jeffrey and Agholor back, they now had their full corps back, so they released Jordan Matthews.

After they released Matthews, they released Hollins the following week, then lost Agholor, then lost Jeffrey. All after they released Matthews.

They did not release Matthews because of a depleted corps and a lack of bodies. They had everyone back. As I noted earlier, they preferred to go with their own younger players, which is exactly what we did. It just has not worked out for the Eagles as their younger guys have all not produced, whereas we have gotten production out of Deebo and Bourne.

At some point these injuries are just too much to overcome. Each one I think this is the one. Well, for the 15th time this season, this is the one.

Our defense had its worst performance this week but we were also down so many DL, and our starting SS. The injuries definitely mount up. We have lost pretty much all our depth on the DL which was strength of the team for so long.
