Hunter2_1
You do remember, don't you.... This guy does... Good news is, we couldn't be much more different now! Our O is not as good, but our D is lightyears better and we are better overall than we were back then. Eagles, on the other hand, are undoubtedly slightly weaker than then, but they're at home and they are one of the few teams we don't have the wood over. History Philadelphia leads the all-time series by a 7-5 margin in the regular season. The teams have also played in two Super Bowls, with each team earning a win. The Patriots are 2-5 overall in games played in Philadelphia, but are 2-0 at Lincoln Financial Field with wins in 2003 and 2011. The Patriots and Eagles are not only both heading into the game off their bye week, they are also the among the best teams in the NFL when it comes to playing with two weeks to prepare for a regular season contest: since 2001, when the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick-era started in New England, the two clubs share identical 14-4 post-bye records (.778) — tied for second best in the league over that time-span behind only the Ravens’ 15-4 (.789). Here’s the initial injury report DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Patriots: S Nate Ebner (ankle/back) / Eagles: WR Alshon Jeffery (ankle), LB Nigel Bradham (ankle) LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Patriots: TE Matt LaCosse (knee), DT Danny Shelton (ankle), S Patrick Chung (heel/chest) / Eagles: RB Jordan Howard (shoulder), OT Jason Peters (knee) 2019 REGULAR SEASON NEW ENGLAND EAGLES Record 8-1 5-4 Divisional Standings 1st 1st (tied) Total Yards Gained 3,301 3,123 Total Offense (Rank) 366.8 (15) 347.0 (20) Rush Offense 92.9 (23) 127.3 (11) Pass Offense 273.9 (7) 219.7 (21) Points Per Game 30.0 (2) 24.9 (13) Total Yards Allowed 2,244 2,937 Total Defense (Rank) 249.3 (1) 326.3 (8) Rush Defense 99.1 (11) 87.3 (4) Pass Defense 150.2 (2) 239.0 (16) Points Allowed / Game 10.8 (1) 23.7 (18) Possession Avg. 32:59 32:13 Sacks Allowed / Yards Lost 16/117 20/107 Sacks Made / Yards 32/214 24/158 Total Touchdowns Scored 33 27 Penalties Against / Yards 56/484 59/522 Punts / Avg. 48/44.6 34/47.6 Turnover Differential +17 (1) -12 (18T) Edited November 14, 2019 by Hunter2_1
1ForTheThumb
Still can't get over that game: Brady's performance, Gronk, Amendola, etc. Some of those box scores will go unremembered because our defense literally could not force a single punt.
CP3MVP
Pats win 31-13. The eagles have no corners so Our offense should feast and pick up on what they were doing against the ravens before the Edelman fumble broke the team. On defense they have no WRs against the best secondary in years. Even the much maligned mitch Trubitsky started to torch philly in the second half of their game when Matt nagy realized they had no secondary
Hunter2_1
Obviously they're going to run the ball and pick up first downs. Explosive plays have been limited, but Carson will be able to find his TEs and RBs and also get help from the ground game. This won't be another game where we continually force punts - but at least this time we WILL force some punts We won't run that well on them, but surely we will do better than previous weeks after the bye? Hopefully we won't need to until the 4th Q anyway, taking advantage of their secondary (they're actually good defending the slot btw....we should look for big plays out wide). Does Harry suit up? I think he will....
rfournier103
I’m dying to see Harry play. He has the talent to be a Patriots all-time great. Time to torch those turkeys.
DoleINGout
I see GDT all the Gawd Dam Time and think that’s what the acronym is for. That or Grand Theft Auto. Hunter2_1
Alshon probably won't play. Not sure if this is good or bad for us.
iothar
Joe joe on Ertz? Is this the physical matchup to try him on? Maybe a sprinkling. 3rd team in a row coming off the bye to face the Pats. Made the Browns look better, made the Ravens look better, and will help the Eagles somewhat. Look for weird 1st quarter where the Eagles come out driving. Need a big play to take the wind out of their sails. Scripted plays galore. I expect some weird PIs this game. Couple offensive on both teams is my bold prediction. 3rd quarter is where this game will be made. Setting the 2nd half tone and ensuring the defense stays rested. Patriots win 27-21 going into the half 13-7.

This can't be good for them as they already miss Jackson's speed, I would expect blanket coverage across the board at this point. Peterson is going to need to manufacture separation with schemes if their guys are to get open against this secondary. I think we are going to see a lot of 8 men in the box this weekend. They use 2 TE sets more than anyone and use their RBs a lot in the passing game. Sounds familiar...

Hunter2_1
Hold your horses - their strengths match up to our weaknesses. We can't stop run up middle = they have the best IOL in the league with Kelce, Brooks etc We can defend any WR you want to throw at us, but our big LBs can be stretched = They have the best 2TE set in the league and use running backs a lot We are awesome at finding holes in the middle of a defense = whilst they SUCK defending wideouts, actually, they're good defending the slot. It won't be easy beaches. Edited November 17, 2019 by Hunter2_1
