Obviously the biggest change is at QB.  I'm debating over starting Lock or Silas.  I have Silas under contract for 3 more years, so it might be smart to develop him as a backup.  I think Lock probably gives me a better chance to win this year.  I think I'm going to go with the long term play in Silas.

Rookie RB Rathman will get the start.  I'm hoping he produces a lot more than McBride.  The WRs will be McKee & Rookie Sieczkowski outside, with Bartel in the slot.

The Oline hasn't changed from last year.

On the Dline I'm going to start Davenport at LE instead of Dawson, since I don't need Davenport playing DT in sub packages anymore.  That's because rookie DT Burney will be the #2 DT.

LBer core remains the same from last year.

In the secondary I'll have Cash as my #1 CB, with rookie CB Young as the #2.  Reigning DROY CB Betts will be the starting slot CB.  Safeties will remain the same.  Not sure how I will get rookie SS Walters snaps this year.

CUTS - FINAL 53 ROSTER - YEAR 7

I have to cut 14 players, if they have PS eligibility left they will head there.

HB Dion Glenn (60) - CUT - he's not a scheme fit.

LG Quincey Sheffield (53) - CUT - the CPU drafted him when I accidentally simmed the late rounds.  He sucks.

OC Rodd Nortman (55) - CUT - also drafted by CPU.

RG Scott Hackett (66) - PS - I drafted some better depth but he's solid, I'll keep him on PS.

MLB Frederick Bullard (61) - CUT - He's not a good scheme fit.

SS Tevin Chapman (63) - PS - also drafted by CPU.  I don't really need another safety but he's a decent athlete.

*TRADES*

WR Darius Slayton (81) - traded to the Chiefs for 4th Round Pick.

- Slayton is solid but he's fallen down my depth chart.  I have younger players I want to get snaps at his position.  I paid a 4th & 5th for him originally, getting a 4th back for him now after progressing him upwards some.

LT Jacoby Trout (72) - traded to Jets for 6th Round Pick.

- If I put him on PS he'll get stolen.  I'm currently carrying 11 Olineman.

Yeah unfortunately you're starters are set everywhere, and you don't have some old vet with normal Dev holding one down.

Maybe if his coverage skills are decent he could get some run at CB if Betts doesn't have a great year two?

CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS

RE Luke Toone (89) - 5 year deal, $9.0 mil salary, $8.30 mil SB, $13.2 Y1 cap hit - $86.3 mil Total Contract

- This is a very expensive contract for a guy that hasn't really produced like a star.  But he's 89 OVR and only 24 years old.  If I let him walk I'd have a big hole on my Dline, I basically had to pay him.

SS Harvey Berry (87) - 5 year deal, $5.0 mil salary, $4.2 mil SB, $6.94 Y1 cap hit - $45.8 mil Total Contract

- Berry is a solid starter and this doesn't seem outrageously expensive.  He's 26, so I'll probably trade him before this contract expires.

CB Rashawn Cash (86) - 3 year deal, $7.7 mil salary, $3.95 mil SB, $9.7 Y1 cap hit - $34.8 mil Total Contract

- Like Berry, Cash is a solid starter but not elite.  This is a reasonable contract for him. He's also 26.

P Matt Haack (83) - 1 year deal, $2.3 mil salary, $730k SB, $3.03 Y1 cap hit - $3.03 mil Total Contract

- He's 31 so I'll need to look for a replacement soon.

K Joey Slye (83) - 2 year deal, $2.3 mil salary, $1.85 mil SB, $3.81 Y1 cap hit - $8.2 mil Total Contract

- He's 29.

RG Cory Yarborough (82) - 3 year deal, $6.2 mil salary, $2.75 mil SB, $7.37 Y1 cap hit - $26.7 mil Total Contract

- He's an average starter and I might replace him before this contract ends, but he's too valuable to just let walk.

RE Vlad Dawson (82) - 3 year deal, $6.0 mil salary, $3.45 mil SB, $7.32 Y1 cap hit - $28.2 mil Total Contract

- He's my top backup at both DE spots, and is good for the rotation.  He's still only 25 and has Star Dev.

LOLB Germaine Pratt (81) - no offer

- Pratt is 29 and already starting to regress.  Its time to move on from him.

CB Joel Northcutt (80) - no offer

- There's always a ton of FA CBs.

DT Andrew Billings (79) - no offer

- He's 30 and doesn't start anymore.

LOLB Javonte McGee (78) - 2 year deal, $3.3 mil salary, $1.1 mil SB, $3.93 Y1 cap hit - $8.7 mil Total Contract SALARY

- He's insurance in case I can't find a better starter in the draft at LOLB.

TE Drew Sample (77) - no offer

- He's 29 and regressing.

SS Tyler Snee (77) - no offer

- My rookie hidden dev SS will take his place.

CB Keion Crossen (76) - no offer

- He's 29 and regressing.

I glanced at the standings and stats this morning before going to work.  The Packers have the 2nd best record in the nfl and QB Witman is probably leading the mvp race.  So that pick will be very late in the first.  The colts were 7-7 so that pick will be mid first.
QB Witman has a crazy TD-int ratio but my 72 ovr starter Silas has more passing yards.
