You are down 23-3 and Bortles has been ****. Not sure why the defense would give it there all at this point. Plus their gassed.

Doesnt mean in future games they just wont care.

They never quit under Gus, until like a week before he got fired. They would get their teeth smashed in, but that defense always came to play even if they were falling apart and getting smoked. Week 2 and guys are already half-assing with effort at the first sign of actual adversity under Marrone. That’s not good.

More than just Bortles has been ****.

He sucks. But to hang it all on him is just glossing over all the other smelly stuff here.

The OLine can't hold up when you ask them to actually do some work. Our receiving depth is massively overrated and pretty trash without ARob. There's no TE threat. Baffling personnel usage. And the Offensive Coordinating is poor. Play calling often frustrating or downright baffling.

This isn't just Bortles.

Alright. Guess we'll see. I dont blame them.

And that’s not me taking a shot at Marrone. Maybe a lot of these players are just mentally checked out with the team itself after the years of this football.

That's the scary thing. The stench of this sort of losing culture if it continues through the year is tough to wash away without some serious scorched earth clearing of the decks. And I don't want to endure that all again.

Bortles cant hit the broad side of a barn. We have no threat of a passing game. Is it just Bortles? No. But having someone who can hit a receiver helps mask some problems. He cant do anything.

P much.

I think the biggest problem with it is the same thing that fans are going through. We all felt it towards the end of the second quarter, when we started getting the “here we go again” responses on here, on Twitter and elsewhere. At some point, the players get that too. At some point as a fan, it becomes hard to get up and root for the team when you see the same thing happening. And players have got to feel that too. It becomes harder and harder to get up for those moments of adversity if all you ever see around you is the team collapsing. It becomes an inevitability in your mind, so the effort just doesn’t matter.

And I’m wondering if the players have hit that point. If they have, not only does it make it hard to see them sticking around when their contract is up, it becomes hard to ever see them get out of that mindset and actually rise against the adversity they’ll face, even if they end up with the surrounding cast, coaching and management that could make it through the adversity.

The receivers suck anyway. He can hit them in the hands and It barely matters. The play design and receivers aren't doing Bortles garbage *** any favours either. Which is what you need if you're going to have any chance of masking that ineptitude.

ARob manages to catch plenty of Bortles errant passes. And he's getting the ball to these other receivers for yardage in garbage time. And they're catching it. They just can't get anything done under pressure. And neither can the OLine.

Its not just Bortles. If they go in with the attitude that simply swapping out Bortles is going to fix this...we're going to get another write off year.

Again, half way decent QB play can mask problems elsewhere. Of course more needs to be done. But having a QB whodoesnt throw it way behind on a slant that obviously is going to cause tipped passes (looked at it closer after my post, that 2nd pic was all on Blake) which in turn gives interception opportunities. Blake doesnt give a ton of guys chances. There has been a few drops, but doesnt change the fact Blake has to give them a chance too.
