Week 13: VIKINGS (8-3) at Seahawks (9-2)

The Seahawks have 23 sacks on the season, but they also have 10 interceptions and 14 opponent fumble recoveries. Defenses seek momentum plays, and the 24 takeaways are just that. Seattle’s propensity for creating turnovers has helped a unit that is in the teens or even 20s in multiple statistical rankings. The Vikings also have intercepted opponents 10 times, but foes have only lost six of 10 fumbles against Minnesota this season. Picking off passes could be a special challenge for the defenses this week, however, as Seattle ranks third in the NFL with an interception rate of 0.85 percent. Minnesota ranks fourth at 0.94 percent.

Seahawks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney had the most dominant performance of the season (and possibly of his career) in a Monday night win over the 49ers. Clowney hasn’t played since due to a hip injury, but the Seahawks are hoping that Clowney will return for their next Monday night game, four days from now against the Vikings.

Pete Carroll:  “We’re counting on him getting back.  We are, we’re counting on him getting back, but he’s still got to make it. That’s a little twinge of optimism there again. He feels good about it and he wants to go. He’s going to try and make it.”

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was passed up for the Vikings head coaching job in 1992, when the late Dennis Green was hired. Carroll was asked Wednesday on a conference call with Twin Cities media if he'd ever thought what if he had been hired in Minnesota, where he coached Vikings defensive backs from 1985 to 1989.

Carroll: "At the time, I loved being there, playing there and coaching there.  It never really got close to getting a job there, but in my mind that would've been the ideal place to go because of following the legacy of Bud Grant, Jerry Burns and all they'd done."

The Seahawks defense leads the NFL with 14 fumble recoveries, which has caught the attention of running back Dalvin Cook and the Vikings offense. Quarterback Kirk Cousins and kick returner Ameer Abdullah lost fumbles in the Nov. 17 win against the Broncos.

Cook:  "They're just one of those teams. They know how to tackle the football. You have to lock that thing up."

Is anyone else concerned with Harrison's hamstring? We have seen how debilitating it has been for Thielen, so does anyone else think this will affect his play for the rest of the season?

Probably just depends on how badly he pulled it.  I'm hoping ti was minor and won't be an issue with him.  We are all hoping that I know, but it didn't look like a huge injury when it happened.

Seahawks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney missed Sunday’s win over the Eagles with a knee and hip injury. This week, the designation has changed. Clowney, per the team, actually has a core injury. He wouldn’t have practiced, if the team had practiced on Thursday. He’s expected to practice on a limited basis on Friday.

Any chance Clowney sits out the game?

I probably wouldn't bet on it

I don't expect him to be 100% though which helps.

Maybe keep Rudy in to chip him a lot and use Rudy in the flats and Irv downfield since Seattles D is struggling with TEs (3rd highest avg ypg to TEs)

Depending in how Dalvins looking I'd be looking to use Mattison more vs Seattle. Best way to beat Russell is keep him off the field.

If they can keep Russell from picking up 1sts with his legs I think the Vikes win which I think Zim will have a plan for since hes had 15 days to prepare.

Vikings win 23-20, Last second Dan Bailey field goal.
