This is a two way street when talking about Vick playing then vs now. There's a "blueprint" so to speak on containing athletic QB's running shotgun/RPO type plays now with the amount of athletic QB's we have seen enter the league the last 10 years or so with guys like: Newton, Wilson, RG3, Kaepernick, Mariota, Tyrod Taylor, Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, etc. Defenses have been able to adjust to most of these QB's. When Vick played, he maybe didn't have these schemes, but he was about the only truly mobile QB that would consistently be a threat with his legs during his time with the Falcons, which certainly made it more rare and hard for defenses to gameplan against compared with what Jackson is doing currently.

Vick was Vick's worst enemy, not offensive schemes of then vs now. He has admitted that he simply didn't put in the work early in his career that he should have put in to elevate his game as a QB. Everything I've heard about Lamar is he works his butt off every day to get better at the position. That combined with his freakish ability is why he won't get "figured out" in the NFL.

Lamar Jackson will get figured out. Every scheme does that’s why the Patriots are the only team with consistently sustained success because they adjust. Payton has started to do it in New Orleans.

Vick, RG3, Kaepernick, Cam, etc...they find ways to stop them eventually. Will coaches be able to consistently adjust on both sides? That’s going to be interesting to watch going forward.

Not sure why Cam is in this list as these other guys, especially RG3 & Kaep.

You can’t even say we don’t know if this is sustainable without getting 5 replies on how this’ll last forever.

Here's the thing...

Saying something isn't going to last forever isn't insight.

Neither is posting some other guys’ tweets that show raw statistics, but here we are.

I have no opinion on whether or not Jackson or anything the Ravens are doing is sustainable because no one has any clue whether it will or won’t. Thing is - at least the pessimistic group has loads and loads of NFL history to lean on.
