KManX89
What are some movies you refuse to see for your own personal reasons? As for me, I refuse to watch A Serbian Film or anything torture porn. I love violent/gritty films as much as the next guy, but I draw the line at torture porn. It's just sick ish for the sake of sick ish. I watched Captivity on HBO when I was bored out of my mind not knowing what it was about and was absolutely repulsed by what I saw, and to make matters worse, I later found out it has an Unrated cut full of stuff they had to cut out to avoid an NC-17 rating, oh F me. On that note, I refuse to watch either of The Human Centipede sequels, though I did watch the first one online out of morbid curiosity and it was surprisingly tame despite its concept. It was mostly just a boring mess. The two sequels I hear are much more explicit and even worse movies, exactly why I refuse to watch them. Aside from that, I refuse to watch anything by Aaron Seltzer/Jason Friedberg (the "____ Movies") and pretty much any modern day comedy with Adam Sandler in it. Obvious reasons. They tried to leach off of the early Scary Movie flicks and then it never went away. Its lazy cheap cash grabs. I also dont care for musicals. I like music, and I can appreciate it, however I get bored. I feel like the story progression gets halted so they can sing a song about what just happened. Tetsujin
Movies that lazily lifted their titles from popular songs ( Can’t But Me Love, Sweet Home Alabama, etc.).
TOUCAN
I am going to be that guy. I refuse to watch Concussion. I am not shushing the science and all of that, and I know they are a real thing to worry about, but I'm not one for fear mongering.

I refused to watch any of them. My friend showed me the trailer and I told him to never show me anything ever again. I was scarred by the effing trailer ffs. They showed the trailer for Cats before Ford vs Ferrari and it was the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen. Scarier than the urban legend meets reality of Faces of Death. And they’re singing? I’d wager that’s what a bad acid trip must be like.

MacReady
Anything that purposefully tries to insult and condemn half the country's population and then act surprised when half the population doesn't like the movie. Anything with Robert De Niro post 1999 when he started cashing checks by playing a caricature of himself and stopped caring. Although The Irishman got me rethinking that. Same thing for Al Pacino post 2002. Anything with people who are not actors but are trying to act. So basically anything with Jon Cena. Or anything with The Rock that is not a comedy, and even 97% of his comedies. 67% of films made in Hollywood. DC because I'm mad and petty and stubborn and they have the richest backlog of characters to imitate what Marvel has done, but instead of getting it right and connecting it all, they've decided that the best route is to fling a whole bunch of **** and hope some of it sticks while also making movies about trench monsters and have literally nothing connected. I mean for ****'s sake, how hard is it?
August4th
I just ignore films that look bad and got really bad reviews

naptownskinsfan
I'm not really a fan of animated movies. So I've never watched a whole lot of the recent Disney stuff, at least since I was a kid and appreciated it on a different level. I'm even a huge Star Wars fans and tried to get into The Clone Wars TV show and just couldn't do it.
BleedTheClock
Anything with a storyline directly tied to social justice and equality. It's not that I don't think those things should be a thing, but there is an overcorrectiveness that happens in Hollywood nowadays and it's annoying. I saw a trailer for that new "Queen and Slim" movie. Made me want to vomit. And Harry Potter.
Malfatron
I dont really have a boycott list. i watch movies that i think i will enjoy for whatever reason, and avoid the opposite. I mostly avoid heavy drama type movies

Waiting on RoS to see if I continue with Disney at all on the majority of their content. Seeing Spiderman 2:Ffh gave me a sense of dread because I dont think Tom Holland can carry phase 4+ and it's a hell no to Brie "is that a personal attack" Larson. I was hoping for Chadwick Boseman to take a greater role cause I could definitely get behind him leading the franchises but i'm not sure he will stick around that long. Same with Benedict Cumberbatch and Feige keeps dropping hints that Hemsworth is just gonna pass everything over to Portman. So outside of those 2 and maybe Olsen I just dont have alot of hope for the MCU going foward. It's golden days are over and I probably will start skipping movies from them. The only thing that has shown me any real promise in the last 2 to 3 years has been The Mandelorian.
skywindO2
This thread is just the most round about way to say you didn't think a movie looked good.
