One should never dress their dog for any reason, it's just wrong.

Dogs already have cooling jackets, it's called fur.

Tell that to my caribbean mutt who starts shivering on a walk when its 40 degrees outside.

I'm not going to say no one should never dress their dog lol but there are dogs where you should absolutely never shave them b/c their fur does act like a cooling jacket such as huskies.

Have any of you tried cooling jackets?

Yes. We use them at dog shows quite a bit when it's really hot out. They work great.

Any double-coated dog should never be shaved.

Mines the complete opposite. Swimming in freezing water for fun.

For summer. We have several water spouts all across the property. With a wading pool set beside each one. So wherever we are on hot days. She has something close to lay in.

Yeah this dog would lay out in the sun for hours if we let her. Has a black coat too but doesn't seem to mind her. We brought her back as a puppy but she must still have gotten used to the heat enough down there.

Our lab mix sounds like yours. We have to keep a close eye on her near any streams when it's freezing out because she's jumping in the first chance she gets.

Thank you.

So far the sprinkler and Mr Turtle pool are working however it’s not yet summer.

Search for crazyheartcanine on Etsy, she has some good ones for a reasonable price.

I got unnecessarily angry when I see a shaved husky that has no visible wounds and even then, it should only be around the surgery. I'm not joking when I say it is probably one of the top 10 things in this world that makes me mad..... way more than it should.

The popularity of the breed makes it far more frequent of an occurrence as well. Irresponsible pet ownership drives me nuts
