Petersen out at Washington.

That uh.

That strikes me as incredibly stupid.

What, they think they'll land Urbz or something?

He did not get fired, just stepping down. DC Lake takes over.

So....where's Petersen going?

I mean, honestly, if I'm him, I'm sitting at home having left as one of the most coveted coaches in the country and enjoying retirement.

But I imagine he'll pop up somewhere by 2021.

Anyone have a scoop in why he stepped down?

"Petersen will transition into a leadership advisory role for Husky Athletics."

Whatever that means, that's what is in the University statement.

The Huskies haven't really recovered from that playoff loss 3 years ago.

Peterson gets to have a peripheral role at UW, chill on Lake Washington, floating on his yacht while still getting paid the big bucks. Seems burned out tbh but looks to get the chance to live the high life for a bit. UW gets to keep Jimmy Lake and Peterson... at least for the time being.

There are a lot of Redskins fans who want Petersen, so I wonder if he explores that option IF Snyder does what needs to happen and axes Bruce Allen.

But whoever said Washington hasn't recovered from their playoff loss, I agree.  This team with Eason should've performed much better this year.  If USC does indeed end up with Meyer, Washington loses the most here.
