  1. 1. Should the Seahawks move to the CFL?

    • Yes, be gone with them already.
    • No, I want see the Seahawks get beat down in the NFC West for years to come.
    • No, because then poor RudyZ might be stuck with them.
    • No, because I am a proud toothless member of the 12th Man which you all know means I became a fan in 2012. It's also the last year I took a shower, because my hygiene is lacking.

Meh, that's just pushing the goalposts with the 'coaching tree' narrative. How's the Belichick tree done in the past? There was a time until Flores came along and maybe O'Brien that ALL of BB's disciples were a disaster waiting to happen

Not to get too far off topic but the whole 'not interviewing well' just seems like a lazy, substandard rationale tbh.

If I'm in the business of winning football games, I want the best football guy....not the best interviewer. But that's just me. Too many personnel ppl get caught up on facets of a being a coach that don't translate to winning on the field. Bieniemy knows offensive football and has developed one of the most potent offenses in the league. Reid has gushed over his IQ and football acumenn for years now. Yes, his past transgressions may cause a little pushback for some. But they shouldn't continue to keep him from securing a HC job.

I'm just going to say it...there's still a slight stigma around black OCs and not being as 'intelligent' enough or as 'innovative' as their white counterparts. Reid gets most of the credit for that offense but it's Bieniemy who is the playcaller and has brought alot of the college spread wrinkles that are now incopersted into that KC offensive juggernaut.

Black DCs will get the benefit of the doubt because a defensive strategist isn't seen in the same light as a offensive guy. Offense is looked at as more cerebral, more calculated and tactical. I say that from being around HS & college coaches for years now and hearing how they detail certain aspects of the game and approach each side of the ball.

Bieniemy not coming off as charismatic or engaging enough has ZERO to do with winning football games. Again, BB had the personality of a wet doughnut. Man is a gotdamn football savant tho. EB has earned the chance to get a shot. I mean in a league where Adam Gase was hired TWICE as a HC.....GTFO!!

I'm not saying that anyone should believe in the narrative that Andy Reid's OCs make for bad coaches, but I do know that it is out there; I don't really see how that is moving the goalposts. I do think his previous issues definitely do play into the decision as he is going to be at the forefront of a franchise and have a lot of visibility. None of us are in these interviews or know how they go, but maybe his shortcomings in interviews are more with his interpersonal relationships and how he would handle certain situations. I've been in on a number of interviews throughout my career and can tell you that people are not going to be jumping the gun to hire someone that's a know-it-all or seems like a prick regardless of the knowledge base he has. Again, I'm not in there so I don't know how they go down, but it's just another factor to take into account.

i mean...if he doesn't interview well....doesn't communicate well...why would you think that he's suddenly going to be the best man to lead a football team? He doesn't have any HC experience, so what are people going to base proposed success on? Maybe he doesn't have a plan when he's getting into these interviews. Maybe they are asking him about a proposed staff and he doesn't have an answer. We have no idea if he's a savant. When he's been in charge in the past, it was a disaster (OC Colorado). He has Andy Reid right now.

He is getting plenty of chances. You don't get passed over for 8 jobs you went out for and the problem is with everyone else. No way.

I've seen countless of interview's with Bieniemy. I don't see a person who has issues with communication. I mean we're not in these interviews so we don't know what these hangups are that are preventing him from progressing further up the ladder. But it's hard to fanthom that it's a communication issue.

And he couldn't have been that bad in Colorado, as they pursed him and he turned down their HC job three years later. That was on Embree, not EB.

Idk...I mean freakin Jim Tomsula got a shot. Something isn't adding up with EB. His players love him. I'm not even saying he's going to be a good HC. What I am saying is that he's at least earned the right to fail. There are guys who have secured HC jobs with much less pedigree and resume. It's beyond odd imo...

EB is generally seen as a complete and total abject failure in his tenure at CO as offensive coordinator. That was a hugely bad stretch. You can pin the blame on Embree as  HC but the offense was awful and that was EB's. HIs RB coach tenure was marred by him committing recruiting violations. They didn't offer him the job or anything...he just withdrew his name from consideration. And that was after they had already pursued others (such as Sark) for the job and got rebuffed. I'm not even sure EB interviewed or if they just touched base with him

Communication alone? No. But the reports are that he doesn't interview well and then you add that on top of everything else.

He's been in charge once in his life and it was a disaster (OC at CU). He has a troubled background that is pretty far back there, but still at the forefront when people are evaluating him. He's got the Andy Reid stigma. Interviewing poorly. I mean, you can survive one or two of these things, but it's hard to overcome all 4.

Deshaun Watson wanted the Texans to hire EB. They could have smoothed things over with their star QB. They then proceeded to hire an offensive coach, POC, who's main claim to fame was being the guy in the charge of the receivers during hte time period where Alex Smith couldn't throw a touchdown to a receiver. He interviewed for every job last year, I believe. He's been up for no less than 8 jobs.

Not great that Daboll took the Giants job.

The three finalists for the Dolphins job were Daboll, Moore and McD.

I think there's a good chance we are about to lose McD. As TKN said, if the hire was Moore, you'd think it would have been made by now and Jerry doesn't seem overly concerned about it. The Dallas staff appears to be in tact for next season moving forward.

I think he deserves a shot and he is likable as hell. I'll be rooting for him in Miami (unless they play SF of course). Shanahan might not pick a new OC since he is the one calling plays, but I wonder who gets promoted to run game coordinator/specialist. Maybe Foerster gets that title?

Foerster has the O-line.

I'm not sure what all Bobby Turners' job entails, but I could see someone like Klay Kubiak sliding into that role pretty easily. I assume that we are going to get Hankerson / Welker moving up the ranks in time as well.

According to JLC, Brady's retirement announcement is imminent.

If so, I actually hate I did not fully appreciate him until the latter part of his career.

He's a true GOAT with as good of a resume as any athlete in the history...at least stateside.

Pretty sure it was your hatred that spurred him on to additional super bowl victories. I'm sure he appreciates you for that.

I've never been one to trust JLC, but we talked about it a few pages back and this one does feel a little different. Talking about his family and stuff like that. Feels like there is more going into the decision this time than just wanting to play until a certain point.

Yeah, I still think he plays ONE more season since he's always talked about playing until he's 45. Skip Bayless brought up the possibility of him playing for the Niners one more season before they give Lance the keys to the franchise. Um....lol.

I don't love it. They supposedly are forcing the new HC to keep the defensive staff (and of course Tua). They are already setting this up to fail and I don't want McD to fail lol
