I don't think anyone will be surprised by this one.... I think it's safe to say the back 7 has been pretty much trash this season. I think if you were to ask anyone the building blocks of this defense, LVE and JS would have been the answer for vast majority. They have not taken any steps forward. If that's the case then Kris Richard is directly responsible. Iirc, Marinelli mainly runs the defensive line. I understand it's an indictment of the whole staff, namely the HC, but Richard works with those back 7 guys more than Garrett and probably more than Marinelli. I feel at some point though, blame needs to be placed on the players. How does someone like LVE, who was such a sure tackler his rookie year regress this much? The kick was downed at the 9 but when they showed it again(never leaving the game) it was at the 4. No penalty was announced.
