To be fair Pederson is also to blame for the talent on the roster. He like a lot of OC's fell in love with the Big Bodied WR. The Basketball,  high point the ball, RZ threat WR's offenses were going to 5 years ago.

Alshon, Ertz, Goedert, JJ all 6"3 or bigger.

It's only recently the NFL is starting to go back to the Faster Shiftier WR because of KC, Rams, Ect having success. The  NFL runs in cycles. Eagles 10 years ago had those types of WR's. Doug Won a SB in large part to these very players Alshon and Ertz high pointing the ball. Using leverage, their size, not speed.

Problem is Defenses adapted, Doug didn't. Players have aged, players are injured. So look for Doug to adapt his Philosophy and TRY to incorporate more Speed throughout  the X, Y and Z positions the next two seasons.

Let's just hope they dont continue piss poor drafting taking the Hollins, Gibsons, Agholors and Huffs of the Worlds! They've tried , just failed miserably.

So many things wrong with the big bodied WR conversation

1. Carson doesn't attempt those throws

2. I've only seen Alshon (mostly years prior) actually win those 50/50 balls

We know 1+2 doesn't equal 6...

RPO was a staple, teams have adjusted which happens all the time. Its on the staff to have a counter with what is given. More back shoulder throws, more roll/sprint out (for petesake). More my 2nd round pick was drafted for this...f it. Lets see if he makes that play.

We aren't playing to guys strengths. Big bodied WRs such as Michael Thomas and Julio are coming across the middle using their size to provide a big target.

Ah yes, here comes Elky with his daily dose of scathing (but not unfounded) hot takes. There is certainly an argument to be had, but Doug was the one calling the plays in that Super Bowl. You can't take credit away from him for winning that game.

It's better to be good and lucky then to just be good.
