But on a pitching day id rather him focus on that. And just have him DH on his off days. It does seem like asking a lot of a player but maybe even given him a full day off after a start. Gonna be interesting to see if he will go to NL were he can pitch and hit ever 5 days or AL were he can pitch every 5 days and DH on his off days... Per MLB rule 5.11, section 3 It is not mandatory that a club designate a hitter for the pitcher, but failure to do so prior to the game precludes the use of a Designated Hitter for that club for that game.
