These are Dalvin's last 4 games -  27 yards (3ypc), 62 yards (3.4 ypc), 29 yards (3.2 ypc) and 26 yards (2.4 ypc).

He hasn't had a good game over last 4 games... This team has been running lot of inefficient runs on early downs recently. No Dalvin might end up being a good thing if they decide to pass more on early downs. This Pass offense is so much more efficient than the run offense and it's frustrating to see the team still doing those down the middle inefficient runs on early downs

If Mattison is healthy soon, it would be great to see him getting more of those carries.  I guess you have to give Dalvin some though because that keeps the defense on their heels and not knowing what to expect.

Over that same span, Dalvin was also arguably getting outperformed by the other backs:

  • Weel 11 vs Denver: Mattison - 5 yards (1.7 ypc), Abdullah - 5 yards (5 ypc)
  • Week 13 @ Seattle: Mattison - 22 yards (5.5 ypc)
  • Week 14 vs Detroit: Mattiosn - 44 yards (3.3 ypc)
  • Week 15 @ Los Angeles: Boone - 56 yards ( 4.3 ypc), Abdullah - 25 yards (5 ypc)

None of those are world beating numbers, but as or more efficient than Cook who has clearly been slowed down by the injury. This kind of keys into the "running backs are expendable" argument. I don't want to disregard Cook's value, but I definitely think there is a STRONG argument that he should sit over the next couple of weeks and get healthier for the playoff run.

Shutting Dalvin Cook down until the (likely) playoffs might not be a bad idea.

Is Mattison definitely playing?

Could be  Boone, Abdullah, and however much C.J Ham can add as a runner.

I'm wondering how have our O-lineman been doing in the same span of Cook's struggles?

That's Zim speak for Mattison being out, too.
