I hope everyone is having a fun holiday season and hopefully likes this mock. Let me know what you think.

Cuts:

Jimmy Graham

Lane Taylor

Resign:

Blake Martinez:

Bryan Bulaga:.

Mason Crosby:

Lucas Patrick

Tyler Ervin

Ibraheim Campbell

Danny Vitale

Free Agents:

AJ Green

The aging A.J. Green is also set to explore free agency for the first time. He turns 32 next offseason, but his game should continue to be graceful even as some of his athletic prowess is zapped over time.

Draft:

Round 1:

TCU_logo.gif Jalen Reagor*, WR, TCU
Height: 5-11. Weight: 195.
Projected 40 Time: 4.35.
Projected Round (2020): 1-2.

11/30/19: Reagor has 37 catches for 554 yards and four touchdowns in 2019. All season, Reagor has been burning cornerbacks and getting open deep downfield for long touchdown receptions, but TCU's terrible quarterback play has missed him constantly. With a competent quarterback, Reagor would be having a massive season with a lot of long touchdowns. He is a speed demon and a home run hitter for the NFL. Reagor also is a dangerous punt returner as evidenced by a 73-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Round 2:

TexasTech_logo.gif Terrance Steele, OT, Texas Tech
Height: 6-6. Weight: 310.
Projected 40 Time: 5.30.

12/14/19: The Red Raiders senior tackle had a quality 2019 that helped his draft stock. Teams like his length on the edge, which is said to include 36-inch arms. Steele is a good athlete and has starting size for the NFL.

Round 3:

UCLA_logo.gif Krys Barnes, ILB, UCLA
Height: 6-1. Weight: 235.
Projected 40 Time: 4.63.
Projected Round (2020): 3-5.

12/14/19: Barnes got off to a strong start in 2019, and team sources said he impressed them. He totaled 72 tackles with four sacks and seven passes defended on the year. Barnes collected 85 tackles with an interception and six passes broken up as a junior. Barnes is a well-balanced defender against the run and the pass.

Round 4:

Mississippi_logo.gif Benito Jones, DT, Ole Miss
Height: 6-1. Weight: 326.
Projected 40 Time: 5.40.
Projected Round (2020): 3-5.

12/14/19: For the NFL, Jones could be a heavy nose tackle that contributes some in the pass rush. Jones got his season off to an impressive start with a strong performance against Memphis, including an interception. In 2019, he totaled 30 tackles tackles with 5.5 sacks and four passes batted.

Round 5:

Dayton_logo.gif Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton
Height: 6-6. Weight: 251.
Projected 40 Time: 4.74.
Projected Round (2020): 4-6.

11/30/19: On the year, Trautman has 70 receptions for 916 yards and 14 touchdowns.

8/17/19: Trautman was a productive receiver for Dayton in 2018 and 2017 to land himself on NFL teams' preseason watch lists. He caught 41 passes for 604 yards with nine touchdowns in 2018 after hauling in 43 catches for 537 yards and five scores during the previous season. Trautman has good size, and playing well at an all-star game would help him.

RD6:

LaLafayette_logo.gif Trey Ragas*, RB, La.-Lafayette
Height: 5-11. Weight: 227.
Projected 40 Time: 4.55.
Projected Round (2020): 3-5.

11/30/19: In 2019, Ragas has averaged 7.8 yards per carry for 748 yards and 11 touchdowns on 96 carries. He also has six catches for 60 yards and a score.

RD7:

NorthCarolina_logo.gif Patrice Rene, CB, North Carolina
Height: 6-2. Weight: 205.
Projected 40 Time: 4.56.
Projected Round (2020): 6-FA.

12/7/19: Rene had six tackles this season before going down in September with a torn ACL to end his season.

6/22/19: Rene did not produce a huge stat line for the Tar Heels in 2018, but he covered well enough to earn a spot on NFL teams' preseason watch list. On the year, Rene recorded 31 tackles with two interceptions and five passes defended. Being a big corner with length, Rene might be a good fit for a press-man team

Great job on the draft. I'm not sure about AJ Green until I'd know what money you would be throwing his way.

Thank you!

I agree with the money part but him and Davante on the outside with an explosive Reagor working the slot would add so much to our offense.

2016 (age 28) - Green played in 10 games.
2017 - Green played in 16 games.
2018 - Green played in 9 games.
2019 (age 31) - Green hasnt played in any games.

Cant say I've kept a close watch on AJ Green's career - he's on a team thats easy to bypass - but my feeling is he's suffered a fair amount of leg and feet injuries. He's had issues with his "wheels" so to speak. So - $$$ issues aside, I'd want to get a handle on the nature of his injuries and how chronic they are.

ESPN: Many have wondered if Green's absence this season has been a quiet holdout for a new deal. However, the Bengals could always let him walk and gain a compensatory third-round pick when another team signs him. And in this situation, Green's recent history could affect the value of his next contract. He hasn't played a game since Week 13 of the 2018 season, when he caught one pass for 7 yards before he aggravating a toe injury. The issue with the toe on his right foot, along with the left ankle injury, has caused him to miss 21 of the previous 22 games. Green has missed six or more games in three of the past four seasons. He remains confident in his abilities to play well and stay healthy. "If they [are] concerned about me not being able to play 16, then take the risk not signing me and not franchising me and we go from there," Green said.

Is there long-term concern about the (current) ankle injury?  That's the biggest unknown at this point, although Green received some good news this week. Green went to Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Monday to visit Dr. Robert Anderson, a renowned foot specialist. Green said Anderson told him the ankle injury will not prevent him from going through a normal offseason or hinder his long-term outlook.

There is no way we are able to afford both Bulaga and Martinez and sign AJ Green. All three of them probably cost 35M a year if not more. Besides, in my opinion, if we adress WR in FA it makes no sense to draft a WR with our 1st pick. Use it to adress the DL.

I understand the $$$ issue and it looking like a madden type signing but I do think there is a chance Green will sign a 1 year deal with heavy incentives which would allow us to afford him. I think adding Green and a first round receiver will open up the offense more and help the defense look better due to playing with a lead.

Understood and you're preaching to the choir when it comes to adding skill position talent. I was just speaking to my uninformed suspicions regards his health going forward. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he's not haunted by lower leg / feet issues going forward.

Definitely agree with you. I couldn't find it but i did read that he was in Green Bay visiting a doctor. Of course this signing would depend on a clear medical report and he has also had a year off so hopefully he would be back to 100%.

I referenced that medical visit in my post.

Just curious if drafting a tackle in the 2nd round is unnecessary with resigning Bulaga and the assumption that we resign Bakh after next year? Unless you think we move on from Bakh or Bulaga is signed to a very short contract? Swap that out with an IDL and I like the draft.

Honestly I like the idea of always adding Offense lineman early in the draft regardless of current status of Offensive line. You can never have enough talented O lineman in my opinion.

I get that but ignoring IDL early in favor of an OT, assuming we would have our tackles locked up for at least 3 years would be a tough pill to swallow. We desperately need a play maker next to Clark.

I personally really like this offseason. This would give the offense the players it needs to be successful (legitimately, we only have 1 top 75 draft pick contributing at skilled positions).   I know people will hate on this for not taking an IDL early, but I get it. We really only use 2,, with another year of development you have to think Gary will play the Datone Jones Elephant end role,  Lowry and Lancaster aren't terrible, and you have to hope for a Keke or Adams contribution as well with more development.

Well tbh our IDL was addressed in RD 4 and if one of those offensive tackles goes down we want Rogers protected with the next man.

That is still ignoring IDL "early". We need an impact player there and someone who can get to that level pretty quickly, imo. I'd rather spend the 4th rounder on an offensive tackle. I want Rodgers to be protected as well but as mentioned, it is tough to spend a 2nd round pick on a guy, who in this scenario will most likely be a back up player for 3 years unless there is an injury(which can't be predicted) or we kick him inside to guard to replace Turner(IDL would still be more valuable). This is just my opinion though.
