ny92mike
Just updated the dead money, carryover and restructure allotment (which is based on the current cap numbers for each team). See here https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals/cap/ they have the Bengals at 51 with the carry over money. So where did the Bengals missing 16 mil go? If you go to here: https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space/ and check the 2019 tab, the Bengals have 16,303,165 unused for the current year. They are free to use it on contract extensions up until the start of the new league year at which point they will roll over whatever is left. For 2020, it shows the Bengals with 49, 310, 400 in space. So the team has 65, 613,565 in current cap space for use in 2020.

You'll see the 2019 unused amounts are not included in the 2020 amounts yet. That makes sense because teams will try to re-sign some of their players before the new league year. Check there 2020 Cap Max, it’s already above 200, that’s the NFL Cap. Remember it’s projected, nothing is finalized on this roll over till after the season. That 212 Cap for the Bengals is including the Carry Over. Its why Cinci has 212 Cap for 2020, and the Chiefs have 222.. the carry over is in there.. as it is for every team and why each team has a different 2020 Max Edited January 20, 2020 by samsel23

We've always done it this way though, we're just starting a little earlier this year. I pulled carryover from spotrac which is showing $11,203,602. sparky151
First, I suggest we use a single source for consistency. I thought we were using OTC. Second, look at Minnesota or Jacksonville. They have negative cap space for 2002 but unused money for 2019. When it rolls forward in real life, (it hasn't yet) their 2020 cap situation will be considerably improved and both will have minimally positive cap situations before making any personnel moves. So with the 16 mil in carryforward, we're still missing a lot of money. I think the explanation is much simpler. The 8 mil doesn't include the carryforward since it hasn't happened yet in real life. The extra 8 mil is from adjustments, ie credits given for players not hitting their incentives. Green was out all year and Dalton missed several starts and had a bad season. So their unearned incentives for 2019 become cap credits for 2020 while their 2020 incentives become NLTBE and aren't in the team's cap number. You got a location that list the carry over without doing any calculations to get that figure? Just easier for me to pull from the site that list it out, but if you know where to find it let me know. OTC is already including their current amount of carryover into their 2020 cap situation. You can tell this by looking at the formulas above the cap space that defines the Team Salary Cap=(Base Salary Cap) + (Carryover) +/- (Adjustments). The OTC 2020 cap space projections are assuming that they are rolling over everything left in 2019.

I can almost Guarantee the Chiefs do not have 22+ Mil Dollars from players not hitting their incentives, but I do know they have an estimated 20-23 Mil in Rollover Money.
