AFlaccoSeagulls
I think Hunter has the proven track record but just this year alone it's hard to argue against Z.
NYJets4716
Smith has 1 less sack and a ton more qb hits.

Yeah, this is kind of where I'm at. I'm a sample size guy. Hunter's is slightly more impressive in terms of length, but this is also the first time Smith has really been a full time guy, too. I voted Hunter, but don't feel great about it. I think this question asked again next year at this time gets an answer of Smith
diamondbull424
In all the games I’ve watched between the teams this season Smith has definitely been the more impactful presence on the field. Not sure if he just saves his big impact for the big moments, but then I look at all the additional QB hits and pressures he has to his credit and it seems to back up that anecdotal evidence of Smith as the superior player. Previous years I would only take into major consideration if the numbers and impact was closer or if either player was dealing with an injury that might’ve been adversely impacting their play, but to this point... it’s Smith.

SirA1
It's Hunter and it's not even close when you compare their 5 year careers. Hunter has been a full time starter for 2 years and has 54.5 sacks versus Z's 32. Also 67 TFL versus 41. Scarily Hunter is also only 25.
El Ramster
It’s Danielle Hunter and it’s not even close. I’m a certified Vikings hater. But this is just too much.
Mox
It's Hunter. Za'Darius is awesome and have an amazing season but DH is unquestionably elite.
AlexGreen#20
This comparison only makes sense if it's talking about this year.
Acrid Josher
Well the question is in the present tense. Not "Who has had the better career?", but "Who is the better player right now?" At least that's how I took it. Edited January 2, 2020 by Acrid Josher
BlaqOptic
Z just had a season Hunter WISHES he could have. But Hunter has had a better career thus far.
GamedayGuru
This year, Smith. Honestly ever since I saw Ryan ramcyzk absolutely obliterate hunter and make him a non factor I thought he was over rated, but then he did that to Khalil Mack and watt also so maybe it’s just Ram is the truth
tom cody
Hunter

Its a link off a discussion I was having with a Vikings fan in NFL Gen. And I'm talking this year and moving forward.
