As I reflect on this season and how much I hated it, I do find some comfort in us being 8-8 if we wind up winning this meaningless game.

For as terribly as we played, and as awful/unprepared our offense looked at times, 5 of our 7 losses were by one score. Two of them we *should* have won in OAK and LA but many teams can say that about their respective seasons.

Go out on a high note, make changes to the offensive staff where needed and come in with a renewed sense of "nothing is promised to you in the NFL".

More and more, I want Ragone and Helfrich gone. Why? Get a fresh set of eyes on Trubisky, focus on cleaning up his mechanics in the off-season and working on his red zone issues. Find a coordinator who has experience (and success) calling plays in the NFL and get them in the building. Nagy is raw, that much was proven to me this season, and he will need all the help he can get. Hell of a leader/CEO -- kudos to him for that -- but he's not an offensive play-calling savant by any stretch of the imagination.

If the Bears make the right moves and stay healthy the can win 11 or 12 games next year. I don't think the Packers are that good and they will go 13-3 this year.

Changes on the offensive staff wont matter because it will still be Nagy's offense. His offense needs a TE to be successful and the Bears stink at the position. Will he adjust his offense if they still don't have a good TE in 2020.

2020 will be Trubisky's last chance to be consistent. So hopefully he will be but the Bears just need to improve the entire offense for 2020. Nagy needs to run the ball and let Tru have the play pass and rollout more in 2020.

Exactly. Nagy isn't giving up playcalling duties so even as an OC he is just a highly paid QB coach.

Edit - Maybe another person can be OC who is an OL specialist and they make some b.s. title for Flip like passing coordinator so he can get OC pay to work directly with the QB. Id be down.

Reading up a bit more on him and on Wentz's decline this season, sounds like some think that Wentz is missing DeFilippo being "up in his ***" (phrasing).

That's what I think Mitch Needs: some DeFilippo up in his ***.

Wentz's decline is because he's had no one to throw to all year. Agholor missed 6 games. Jeffery missed 7 games (shocking, I know). Jackson missed 13 games.

Trubisky needs more than someone in his ***. He needs a sports psychologist and someone to help him throw for him.

Too bad the QB has relegated this offense & the playcalling to consistent 7+ play drives when they do score. I wonder when their last 2-3 play scoring play drive was.

Just think of it this way, we are on Pace to score 24 points this game. Well above our avaerage. Lol.
