Well done, @goldfishwars !!!!

I always marvel at the research, and vast knowledge of football both pro and college, that your work demonstrates; this one especially hit home, giving Hope, and Reason To Go, to a long-suffering fan of the blocker-bereft NY Giants! Outstanding effort, as always.

Surprised you have only 5 RBs going top 3 rounds when it could easily be 10 if not more.  Basically Joe Burrow and Chase Young 1 and 2 is a literal fact, no way on earth that does not happen unless one trades out of that spot.  And even if that happens Burrow and Young still go 1-2, there is no way on the planet that does not happen so I agree.

Marvin Wilson has decided to come back to Florida State so he is out of the draft, same with Terry on FSU.

Wirfs I feel jumps Thomas no doubt, especially with how well he looked in the bowl game and how great he will perform athletically.  So give me Wirfs to the Giants instead.  Agreed with Simmons to the Lions, way better than how low you had him ranked last time.  Also agreed with Kinlaw to the Cowboys, that interior DL was crap this year no question.

Still not sure the love for Trevon Diggs and Moses off an injury, Diggs for sure he is physically pretty weak and not a great tackler.  And Shyheim Carter?  He kind of sucked this year I thought, he would be lucky to be drafted honestly.

You are right with Chaisson, especially with how he has looked in these bowl games, kid is arguably the best 3/4 OLB in the draft, considering Young and Epenesa could play 3/4 OLB but are more a true DE.

Lloyd Cushenberry III I do not like honestly, that LSU OL has been suspect and interior play has not been great outside of Lewis and even he is just ok.  Samuel Cosmi I would be shocked if he comes out early, good athlete but still very raw.  And Trey Adams is a 1st round pick, sure injury history but kid can play and has a lot of athletic ability.

Don't have anything wrong with the positions drafted for the Falcons at all.  I think you did very well on them for the most part on our needs.   For me i would have rather kept the same 2 positions in the 1st 2 rounds and swapped the players in each round like  Kinlaw in the 1st and Darrell Taylor in the 2nd.  I like those 2 guys much better than the 2 we ended up with.

But overall good effort and work as you hit the positions we could use and i like Lecounte as well although im not sure he goes in the 2nd round as it sits but he's a solid player.

There's lots I like, but there just aren't that many RB needy teams.

I posted this on the NFL draft forum RB thread but same can be said here.

I could see the Redskins wanting to get some depth at RB especially if they let Peterson go, same with the Falcons.  The Ravens might want some depth if they let Gus Edwards go.

Teams in major need of a RB help would be the Dolphins and Bucs but both will go QB 1st round most likely.  Kind of shocked when I looked at the Dolphins rushing total for the season, wow that might be a record for least amount of yards.  But they could both steal a great RB 2nd round though easily.

Teams late 1st would be the Chiefs and Saints, both in need or RB depth and both could get a great player late 1st round.  Jaguars might want some depth at RB, Texans might be in huge need depending on what happens with Miller and Hyde.  Titans I could see wanting some depth and the Chargers depending on what they do with Ekler and Gordon could be in huge need as well.

Some possible good fits team wise for some backs.

1st round
Falcons- JK Dobbins
Texans- Jonathan Taylor
Saints- Najee Harris
Chiefs- Travis Etienne

2nd round
Washington- DeAndre Swift
Dolphins- Zach Moss
Jaguars- Eno Benjamin
Bucs- Cam Akers
Titans- Kylin Hill
Ravens- AJ Dillion

I have this mock draft going where I have these backs going to these teams.

1st round
Buffalo - JK Dobbins
Miami - Jonathan Taylor
Seattle- Najee Harris
KC- Travis Etienne
Baltimore- De'Andre Swift

2nd round
Atlanta- Eno Benjamin
Houston- Zach Moss

3rd round
Chargers- Kylin Hill
Colts- AJ Dillion
Denver- Cam Akers

2020 FA RBs potentially

Derrick Henry
Melvin Gordon
Lamar Miller
Frank Gore
Carlos Hyde
Adrian Peterson
Kareem Hunt
Kenyan Drake
Chris Thompson
Austin Ekeler
Gus Edwards
Ameer Abdullah
Matt Breida
Peyton Barber

Even if some guys fall some teams will get the steals at RB, mostly the Saints, Chiefs, Washington and the Dolphins in that late 1st early 2nd round.

get the thought process in putting Herbert to the Chargers, but I have real trouble seeing it if the current FO stays in tact.  They're gaga for locker room leaders who are Type A personalities and that's like the opposite of Herbert - he's passive as all hell (Josh Rosen x 50 in that respect).  They've also (coaching staff and FO) made it clear that they're willing to roll out Tyrod as the starter in 2020 - which may have been a bargaining tactic at the time it was said given they were still talking extension with Rivers, but has to be at least considered.

I still feel like, knowing what I do of the front office and how they've approached drafts (and to some respects, the arrogance of Tom Telesco) in the past, if Tu'a or Burrow don't fall (or Telesco doesn't get a burr in his butt to feel compelled to mortgage the future and trade up for one of them), they go OT with the pick.  The only thing I can pretty much guarantee won't happen is they won't trade back (unless someone puts a 2021 1st on the table to test their resolve; we've never seen Telesco trade back in the 1st... or much at all really).  Conversely, I could see them, for differing reasons depending on whether we're talking about Telesco or Lynn, falling in love with Eason or Fromm and taking one of them earlier than either really has business being taken (could certainly pencil one of them into the 2nd round or definitely 3rd).  Darryl Williams in the 2nd also wouldn't shock me - they typically draft for expected need of the year after in the 2nd, and with Pouncey's contract being up then, and Williams being able to play some guard in the interim, that could be a good fit.

Nice to see Chaisson and Alton Robinson (how willing teams are to overlook his previous arrest will be interesting) get some love.

One of those first two Rams picks is going to be someone who slips because they didn't workout as well as people expected from their tape, but that the tape shows is a clear "he's a football player" type.  Hard to put a finger on who that will be right now, but I trust your approximations.  I also wouldn't be surprised to see them, barring a free agent acquisition, take a long hard look at Solomon Kindley, especially if he's there in the 3rd.  He fits the type of IOL Kromer has traditionally really loved and if Whitworth doesn't come back then Joe Noteboom is definitely going to get first crack at the starting LOT gig before anyone else.

I'll be interested to see where Darrell Taylor falls in your upcoming drafts.  He's one of those tweener types that I feel like could get overdrafted on pure athleticism and "off the bus" traits, but does have decent enough ceiling to merit Day 2 interest with the right coaches/fit.

Ekeler is a RFA.  Matt Breida too.  Gus Edwards is an ERFA, at best, he only signed with the Ravens as a UDFA in 2018.

Of some of the others, there may be a couple who get the Mike Davis treatment and an assumed prominent role, but those aren't guys who typically stop teams from drafting younger guys with less mileage and presumably greater ceilings.

Barring injuries displacing some guys, Hunt, probably Gordon, and definitely Henry are the only guys I expect to be signed to be out and out starters, and there's no guarantee (other than Gordon, at this point) that they don't get that deal from their current teams.  You can likely lump Drake in there as well.

Like it but don't love it. The three position are all good but I hope we take IOL earlier but of course it all depends how the board falls.
